Can't really complain after getting lucky with Gura, but a 50/50 shot for a decent player in Guillen came up short. Ended up with '03.

Basically, wanted a SS so I would have someone to put in defensively when I need to pinch hit for Appling in a big spot.

no idea if this movie is supposed to be any good, but i ran across mention of it today...

The Perfect Game

based on the true story of the 1957 Little League World Series, the first one won by a foreign team, in dramatic fashion. I'm a sucker for these sort of stories.

oso's favorite baseball stuff

19. Baseball Prospectus – the books, the website, the new stats. If you aren’t reading these guys, you’re missing out on cutting-edge research about the best ways to understand the game

20. The Catcher Was a Spy: The Mysterious Life of Moe Berg – biography of this mid-20th-century catcher, a fascinating guy who was also a spy for the USA

21. Moneyball by Michael Lewis (not by Billy Beane)

22. Numbers Game: Baseball’s Lifelong Fascination with Statistics by Alan Schwarz

23. The Pitch that Killed by Mike Sowell - the account of the beaning of Ray Chapman, still the only MLB player to die on the field of play

Carl Crawfords years (all six of them) (2-3-4-5-6-7)

Also Joe McGinnity and his vg 400ip can be had for a stud bullpen guy. Im still looking for a RH bomber also.

Looks like 2006 (second best)

why? planning on getting the thread deleted? :( i do have the master list, though without hyperlinks. If i were going to get to #25, to match our # of rounds, i would probably add the Win Shares book by Bill James, and Men at Work by George Will

I just want to make my two picks so I can have my nice finished team. Have them all picked out already, I hope I snipe someone because I will probably be picking at exactly 12 so no one else can steal my players.

anyone have a rookie season? also, wondering who are the youngest and oldest players?

I have John Candelaria in his rookie season at age 21. If the spring training games are any indication, he's a bit nervous facing these all-time lineups.

Oldest guy i have is Dave Bancroft at age 35.

19 year old Dwight Gooden in his rookie season.

I have two 25th rders because of the Jack Taylor trade with Mr. Phoenix

Ray Caldwell SP
