With Rogers slow recovery from the knee surgery, loosing Smoot or Springs could be crippling to this team. I really had high hopes for this DST unit this time last year in fantasy league. Now with the passing of Taylor and the lack of adding a pass rushing threat I think I may be cutting them.

I know Washington is one of the few if at all teams that started today but boy are they getting their fair share on the first day.Injuries have a way of really killing potentially great teams in FF.

Devin Thomas Carted Off

Devin Thomas, the wide receiver who was the Redskins' first overall pick in the April draft, has suffered what appears to be an injury to his right hamstring and was taken from the field on a cart.

He ran down the right sideline for a deep pass from Jason Campbell and fell to the ground as he went for the catch, Jason Reid reports. He was helped up, then the cart was brought onto the field. Thomas, a 6-2, 218-pounder from Michigan State, was a second-round pick.

As he came off the field after practice, Campbell said Thomas' injury looked like a hamstring injury to him as well.

LaRon Landry, who was not participating in the morning drills, said he had tweaked hamstring and thought it would be fine in a couple of days. Shawn Springs took a lot of snaps, as mentioned earlier, at safety as well as cornerback.
