***Official Week 6*** Waiver Wire (1 Viewer)

Just a heads up - I have been killing every TE who has been on my roster this season. I killed Zach Miller (his big game came after I dropped him) and John Carlson. I'm going after Greg Olsen this week so my apologies in advance to Olsen owners for putting an end to his run of productive games. On the flip side, if anyone's looking for a TE, I'm guessing Carlson will go off against the Packers since he won't be on my roster anymore.
Some things are better left unsaid and kept to yourself :goodposting:
Sorry. I just figured it would help Olsen owners this week when he puts up a 0 understand why that happened. I'm not trying to kill every TE on my roster. It's just working out that way.

I'm stuck w/LJ Smith who followed VD......it is HORRIBLE. Who is a TE Sleeper?

The guys I like the best going forward at this point are:Greg OlsenZach MillerDustin KellerIf all of those guys are gone and you're just looking for someone to help you out this week maybe someone like Visante Shiancoe would be worth a try. He scored again in Week 5 and the Vikings get the Lions this week.

The only one available is Keller.....you like him better than LJ?Fasano won't get to me through waivers. Heap is available and should be playing from behind @ IND. Carlson available though I don't understand all the hype.

Yup. I think he has more upside. Favre has made a career out of turning TEs to gold. He loves throwing to his TE in the Red Zone. I don't know if Keller will be huge for receptions on a weekly basis, but he should get a decent number of TDs the rest of the way.

Nate Jackson...looks like Scheffler will miss at least the next week and Jackson almost took Scheffler's job in the offseason. Dude has skills. And with Eddie Royal looking like he will miss time also, the TE position will probably see more targets. The perfect storm. :goodposting:

Calvin Johnson just got waived in my main league.

He's got to have upside and I can afford to be patient.

Welcome to the team, Megatron.

If your hurting at TE like many of us in 12 team and above leagues.

Klopfenstein Rams TE- with McMichael out, this is still an offense run by Saunders who is known to be TE heavy. I also think the Ram offense should improve as the year goes on.

A couple quick comments:

Re: Eddie Royal. Darrell Jackson will start in his place, not Stokley. Jackson replaced Royal for one play in week 1 and he caught a 48-yard TD pass. Call that lucky. This week, Jackson should have a solid matchup and be useful like Domenik Hixon if you're strictly looking for a short-term, plug and play option for this week only.

Re: Matt Jones and Mike Walker. Walker was coming on strong and seemed to be taking over as the "go to" receiver in the Jags offense.. at least as much as there ever is one in that offense. Problem is, he also strained his MCL at some point in last week's game. He has yet to have an MRI, but I would temper any enthusiasm for Walker until we know the extent of his sprained knee.

Colston was dropped in one of mine. I'm hoping he sneaks through, but I may blow my FA budget to lock him up.

From what I understand (via a post in the Walker thread), he has had an MRI and it came back clean.

First Calvin and now Colston was dropped in one league.I'm not going to use that tired, annoying line "can I play in your league", but seriously....

Wow
wow is right. and here i was getting excited that kevin walter was released in my league.
Yeah, no S###!And being dropped from a longtime owner who is 4-1.??!!?? wtf? But--we are in Michigan, and Lions fans can only take so much, right? waitaminute...that's not true....we'll keep taking it BECAUSE we're Lions fans. :bag:

I was stunned. Rookie owner in a competitive, long running $200 league. That's why I'll prolly have to blow my budget.ETA: This thread encouraged me to look at the recent drops in all my leagues at a little more depth. Turns out DeAngelo Williams was dropped in another league. My waiver position is 8th though, so I don't expect him to fall to me.

The Megatron thing shocked me today, sure...however, before you start thinking this is some Yahoo league,We have very shallow rosters with low positional roster limits. Not my idea but the 14-year league always votes to keep it.Two owners are sportswriters, one of them NFL beat. Three more are sportscasters and pretty sharp with their teams.I'd want to play in the league if I were you, too. But don't be so sure about being a shark amongst guppies.just sayin'

One blurb was from RotoWorld quoting the Orlando Sentinel and here's another:The MRI results for WR Mike Walker showed he has a sprained knee rather than a torn MCL. Walker hopes to play this Sunday, after the second-year receiver's best game to date, hauling in six passes for 107 yards against the Steelers.

I hear you - in many cases, these drops tend to be among leagues with few teams and/or very small rosters. But, still, I can't imagine any league but with the smallest of rosters where either Calvin Johnson or Colston should be dropped.

I agree 100%. That said, the Lions QB situation is really up-in-the-air, and ain't a one of us in this hobby that hasnt done something rash at some point, right?I am just glad I have #1 slot for late week pickup ;)

Nice call, I'll hitch on to that wagon. ESPN reporting he might also have a sports hernia.
Scheffler may also undergo tests for a sports hernia, so the groin strain may be the least of his problems at this point.

Mike Walker looks good tonight and will be picked up in a lot of leagues this week.
Just dropped Matt Jones for him.
You'll be regretting this one in the coming/future weeks.
LOL, Jones may have potential but he is currently a scrub
Not sure about the future weeks after 6 &7 but 6&7 your regrett it. 7 is the bye week and 6 is:Jaguars | M. Walker could have sprained MCLTue, 7 Oct 2008 17:17:23 -0700Shannon J. Owens, of the Orlando Sentinel, reports Jacksonville Jaguars WR Mike Walker (knee) suffered a knee injury in Week 5, which could be a sprained medial collateral ligament, but he has not received an MRI test yet.

The MRI results for WR Mike Walker showed he has a sprained knee rather than a torn MCL. Walker hopes to play this Sunday, after the second-year receiver's best game to date, hauling in six passes for 107 yards against the Steelers. In my case I hope to not have to play him this year. In our setup I can "hide" him on our practice squad if he's never in my lineup.

Jones, Williams and Porter are all healthy..no need to play Walker with a sprained knee before their week 7 bye!

Colston was available in one of my leagues (8-teamer), I just dropped Cotchery to pick him up.

I always like to read this kind of thread..Waiver Wire, Who are you targeting?

But most are already taken in my 12 owner leagues.

Just Brandon Stokley/Darrell Jackson is on most of my leagues WW..but its only worth while for a game or two (Royal hurt). And Denver TE's same boat Nate Jackson and D. Graham.

Best WW pickup saw so far if you need a QB. or even trade bait is Orton on all of my leagues WW other then that not many on my four leagues (redrafts).

Lawrence Tynes was on our WW and I picked him up. Carney was available as well. I'm interested to see how this situation works out, as the NYG kicker is currently #2 in our league. Only the uncertainty of Carney's hold on the job has kept these guys from being rostered, IMO.
