ive heard about enough of ozzie talking about playing small ball and doing it the national league style, bunting guys over, stealing bases, etc...if you are gonna do that stuff then do it and stop talking about it....game three vs the indians, score is 4-0 in the fifth i believe, men on first and second and your number 9 hitter who strikes out alot and is struggling comes up with nobody out. ACCORDING TO SMALL BALL, YOU BUNT THE GUYS OVER TO SECOND AND THIRD HERE OZZIE, but no.....he lets uribe swing away and strike out. next hitter gets a base hit that scores AJ from second and woulda scored both runners had they been moved over, LIKE ITS DONE IN SMALL BALL. score woulda been 6-0 and they concievably would have held on for a win in that game.nice to talk small ball and fundamentals, but lets wake up in the dugout and actually do the shiaat that comes with it..... :wall: :hot:

Bump for Sunday Night Baseball tonight and the SWEEP

It will be tough but the Palehose have beat Santana before :brush:
Santana and Buehrle should not only be a great matchup. It should be a FAST game.Thumbs up to fast baseball games! :D

6-2 and atop the Central.

Life is good.... for now ;)
how's frank thomas looking so far this season?
Are you being serious?
quite serious for a couple of reasons...1. i just moved to chicago from nyc with the wife. i need a baseball team to pay attention to and the cubs get plenty of love already.

2. he's a client of my father's firm. i'm simply protecting the investment and cultivating small talk topics with my dad when things get slow.

oh fair enough... well he had a pretty severe ankle injury that he is recovering from. They said he might be back in May, but it is looking more and more like June.

thanks. i'm supposed to meet the guy, i think, when my dad comes to town in august. i know we're getting tickets from him for sure. i have always liked thomas but lost track of him and his standing around the league over the past couple of years.i'm trying to get tickets to bears games through another client of my dad's this season too.

Please update Hack!!I'm going to the game tonight, hopefully the Palehose can pull of the mini-sweep of the hated twinkies :banned:  = Has anyone ever been to the Stadium Club in the Cell?? What is the deal there -- on the ticket it says dress code and only Credit Cards are accepted. I am going with some guys at work so we are trying to plan accordingly.TIA :banned:

Dye is Alive. FINALLY.
and Garland is 3-0 with a solid 8 inning, 5-hit gem.Not bad for a 5th starter.

This is very promising to see from Garland, hasn't been better than a .500 pitcher his entire career and he starts the season 3-0 with 3 solid outings. To only think it was a year ago when the White Sox couldn't find a 5th starter to save their lives, and now their 5th starter is 3-0 and they are leading the division :lmao: GB Baseball

Easy on the Garland wagon. It's only 3. He's shown flashes before. Hope for your sake it keeps up and for my sake I hope it doesn't. :D ;)

:D You've had the best of that trade since it was done. But it's been 7 years. Maybe now he'll put up some numbers. He was supposed to be a stud but has been average at best since then. You can't disagree with that can you?

Anyway, like I said, I don't want him to do good and you do. I've been on the better side of that for a while. Of course, the way the Sox have started, it looks like he may have picked the perfect season to perform if this indeed is the one.

See post above -- Garland has been a .500 pitcher his whole career, so that is why I am excited to see him get off to such a good start. And considering the 5th starter woes they had last year, it is nice to see 3 wins out of that 5th slot so early in the season. You better be more worried about your boy Kid K, because if he doesn't get his #### together the Crubbies could be in trouble :brush:

If and When Frank is healthy does Ozzie insert him into the line up or does he stick to his guns. I think he is in a lose / lose situation. Hopefully the Sox are up on the Twinkies by double digits by the time Hurt is ready.

8-1 in one run games. 2-1 in extra inning games

6 wins in a row

Small ball, schamll ball....who gives a ####.

They are winning.

:headbang:

White Sox are getting no respect.Best record in the bigs = crickets. This is your last chance to get on the wagon.....:stillers:

Now this is fun!!Garland throws another gem. 4 hit, complete game shut out.Chris Widger hits his first home run since the 2000 season. :lmao:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I seriously can't believe what they are doing right now, stayed up late to watch Garland throw the complete game.

fyi...The Sox swept KC without hitting a home run.

Well the latest is Ordonez. He always seems to be getting in verbal battles in the press. The guy is a major #####.

"He's a piece of [bleep]. He's another Venezuelan [bleep]. [bleep] him,'' he said of Ordonez, who inspired the crossfire Thursday in Detroit by merely saying he had no desire to chat with Guillen. "He thinks he's got an enemy? No, he's got a big one. He knows I can [bleep] him over in a lot of [bleeping] ways.''
Don't #### with Ozzie!!

It goes both ways man, Ordonez is a major pud and has spearheaded a lot of this back and forth conversation between the two.

That is pretty crazy to be 16-4....This rotation, which I still don't believe in, has pitched great...Garland always had a lot of talent so it's possbible he may be finally putting things together and as the #5 starter, he's only 1 win away from what the White Sox got out of that spot all of last season. The 2 I don't trust is Hernandez and Contreras - So far, they both have been mainly solid, but I can't trust El Duque staying healthy, and winning with that junk he's throwing, and Contreras has great stuff (last season, his ERA was 2.20 when he pitched at least 6 innings, and 6.00+ when he didn't) but just has to be consistent...Offensively, still a HR hitting team, but they have more ability to get on base, getting Frank Thomas back will be a big boost!

I'm not disagreeing, but this isn't the first time Guillen has battled in the press. Happened last year with Showalter. He just needs to stay above it all and focus on his team.

I agree, he lets his mouth do the talking before his head comprehends what it is going to say. :lmao: He just a very competitive guy, was when he played for sure, and he doesn't want anybody getting the best of him.

As a long suffering Sox fan I'm stunned by the 16-4 start but I'm also waiting for the inevitable heartbreak to set in. Entering this year I saw a team that was going to have trouble consistently scoring runs, and whose pitching would be very good more often than not. So far that's been the case to the extremes, but with our OBP being so ungodly, I just can't see us continuing to win at anywhere close to this clip. Assuming the pitching comes back down to Earth a bit, can the team increase it's offensive production enough to balance that out? I'm just not so sure.

In the meantime, :banned: :pickle: :banned:

Couldn't have said it any better ... I'll enjoy the hell out of this ride as long as I can. I'm still pissed about 1994 though. We're getting near that point, though, where you start saying "You know, if they play .500 ball the rest of the way ...."

Ozzie's knowledge of the English language is limited so most of time the only words he really knows are misconstrued. As long as the team keeps winning he could probably get away with ripping just about anyone except maybe Kenny Williams. I think the Sox have won maybe twice in the last 3 years at Oakland. We have had the GO GO SOX, Winning Ugly , South Side Hitmen , now Schmall ball. Call it what you may but a win is a win.

Well said, its funny that nobody still has taken notice of this team yet  If they win today, chalk up another series win :own3d:

That's why I think Frank Thomas will be needed - he can get on base. I've never been a big Jermaine Dye fan so I think Carl Everett will continue to play most days - giving Frank a day off 1 or 2 times a week, and then taking some time away from the OF's, especially Dye should he continue to struggle.I think the playing .500 ball comment will come up if we can get to about 20 games over - which isn't impossible considering our upcoming schedule of Detroit, KC, Toronto and TB in our next 12 after Oakland. Assuming we split the next 2 with the A's, I think we can go 8-4, 9-3 agains those teams and that would put us at 16-17 over.

It's nice to have some breathing room this early as well, being 5 games up on the Twins. You know the Twins will somehow hang around though, and make a run at us.

At 16-4 right now, if we go 9-5 in the next 14, our record would be 25-9....that's crazy!
