Not the absolute best fit for my team, but I figure he's far and away the best Padre left. 308/395/558 with 34 HRs in '79.

in BTTF2, i played Pujols and Morneau in LF/RF without any problem. They both had a B/A rating at 1B. So i assume it would work OK in reverse, given my perception that 1B/LF/RF are similar on the defensive spectrum.

Yeah, that won't go nearly as bad as Larry's gambit. You'll get a penalty for out of position, but you're moving the easier way on the scale.

Excited about the ridiculous SO-BB ratio, the high BA (even with Smith's .303 dragging it down), good OBP and still decent slugging (even if not so great isoP). At a +3/+3/+3 park I should be getting guys on base and moving them around a lot.

How are you going to manage SPs 3,4,5?

I have a few things I'll do at times.Obviously they won't all be used every time around the rotation. It will be more like 1-2-3-4-1-2-5-3-1-2-3-1-2-4-3-1-2-5-3, etc.Also considering using Jay and Hearn or Perez at times as a tandem and just giving the relievers the night off since Jay only has 5 IP/game.

Tend to agree here. If anything we should give him the option after the draft to be free to swap players with some remaining if he wants, which could be the beat way to give him a boost.Obviously this isn't foremost on his mind with what's unfortunately going on.
