FYI 30 min clock today. And while after hours is off the clock, if you know your turn is upcoming would it kill to leave a list or check in every few hours? TIA

You think Gamble was a bad gamble? PHs seem to matter a ton imo...plus the position scarcity thing. Enjoy your extra SS.
mostly just messin' with you back. I'd love to have Gamble on my team. Just surprised someone would wait until round 18 to take a starting SS. I figured you were targeting Hollocher, given the options available, and i wanted either him or Evers to be my backup MIF and Cub guy. In round 16, i almost took Hollocher, but decided to gamble and see if he (or Evers) made it back to me, only having to worry that BOTH you would take Hollocher and Larry would take Evers. Neither of you did. I didn't think i could make that gamble again in the 18th.i guess i'm different from most drafters. i like to have lots of PAs, for the extra flexibility.

I knew I was risking someone taking a backup SS, but you took a 2B and a SS in the 2nd and 3rd, so I'm little surprised it was you. Doing the math only a couple of teams had a Cub pick left and all of them had a good SS. I wanted to get a few of those useful expansion team players first, knowing that if I failed I'd have to get Boone type guy.Charlie could be quite the #8 hitter in this, I think it's a good pick.Edit: Also, you'll note I took Fregosi as well, so I like extra PAs too I guess.

Was on tilt pretty bad ... was counting on Kern or maybe Ladd falling. Shoulda punted Bassler one more round, but was concerned he'd get picked because he has decent PH numbers (for a slap hitter).

19.13- OF Dave Parker, Pittsburgh Pirates

During a game in 1979, a powerful hit he made to right field was very difficult to throw into the infield, because he had "knocked the cover off the ball." One of the seams on the ball ruptured, making nearly half of the cover come loose.

Pittsburgh fans angered by his million-dollar contract threw "nuts and bolts and bullets and batteries" at him, as pitcher Kent Tekulve stated; a typo in a news story made it appear that they threw car batteries.[6]

In 1981, at a point in his career when it looked as if he would one day rank among the game's all-time greats, Lawrence Ritter and Donald Honig included him in their book The 100 Greatest Baseball Players of All Time.[7] The authors, noting that Parker had succeeded Roberto Clemente at the position, wrote, "Someone must have a fondness for right field in Pittsburgh."

However, in the early 1980s, Parker's hitting suffered due to injuries, weight problems and his increasing cocaine use.[8] He became one of the central figures in a drug scandal that spread through the major leagues. Parker was among several players who testified against a dealer in the Pittsburgh drug trials, and he was later fined by Major League Baseball for his admitted drug use.
After Hernandez went off the board, I went with the next best cokehead available. My first left-handed bat, he'll be my primary pinch-hitter and will spell Heilmann when he gets gassed with equally uninsipring OF defense.

I did seriously think about taking Hollocher for my backup. Opted for the righty in Stephens. But if Arky's going to lead off, someone needs to cover the rest of his PAs for me.

yeah, i wasn't worried about you, because i didn't think you'd take another lefty SS

OK, with Bob Lee going, things are pretty crystallized for me, so now I just need nobody to steal my picks.

Brian Downing, C Angels

Empty .320 AVG and bad arm, but can PH for Porter against slow teams.
