Panic Pick - Slidin' Billy Hamilton - OF
Love this pick. He was one of the guys I really wanted to pick over Speaker. So hard to pass up.

Before I did any rankings I put together a gut list of who I thought would be a first rounder. He was on it. There are still 2 more guys on that list that aren't drafted yet. Shows what I know.

If the pitching run hadn't been going on with such force, I'd have taken Hamilton at 3.01. Wish I woulda had the stones to pull that trigger.

[Willie Mays] was tied with Speaker in my rankings, and I figured the high AVG/OBP would sim better than the power.
In the 2005-2006 sims, it seemed to be the opposite -- his AVG/OBP stunk, but his power was decent. Like I said, though, that was many engines ago.

These make me happy. Thanks Guys.

larry been around at all?
It's pretty obvious Larry doesn't care about anyone else and it totally inconsiderate of others' time. We all get skipped at times or delay things, but it's been like 15 of these. Yes its a joke, but it's also kinda rude, no?

This would be a little more understandable if Puff the Magic Dragon, and not Lex the Pewter Dragon, was holding Larry up. /koya

Guys, there were lizards in bible times. Probably some really big lizards...and, well the thing is, when God spoke to the dudes that wrote the bible they got confused and thought, "Well, cockmonster, that's a dragon!" So, yeah, I believe that happened oololo.

AA seasons in 1890 and 1891 are out, right?
Good question.
I assume the bolded below means they're out?

PLAYER DRAFT

a) Player draft order will be serpentine (1-24 odd rounds, 24-1 even rounds). Order will be determined by dice roll

b) Drafted players seasons must include two from each decade: 1890s, 1900s, 1910s, 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and one Federal League season.

c) Full & combined seasons only. No partial seasons.

d) American League or National League seasons, with the exception of one Federal League season.

Admit it, Larry makes everyone feel a little better when you might be late with a pick.

"At least I'm not LarryLate"

I was debating Hughie and Collins while the larry clock ticked down. I think SS might be a tad deeper so I went with EC

Dragon Slaying Legends

Dinosaur wasn't a word until the year 1851. We should notice at this fact that apes (aka - gorillas) were considered myths until 1861.

Every culture, however, has myths about dragons and great knights and warriors slaying them. examples:

King Nebucannezzer's ring had a god riding a dragon on it.

When Saddam Hussien rebuilt the city of Babylon and the walls of the city, there were things on the walls that they restored (they didn't draw this stuff there) that appear to look like dinosaurs.

There is a Roman mosaic of 2 long-necked dinosaurs kissing.

Ancient Chinese recipes contain ingredients such as "ground up dragon bone" and are meant seriously.

the dragon heads on Scandanavian ships, why are they there? What made them use a dragon head? What is the purpose? Where did they see the dragon head?

Psalm 148:7 - "Praise the Lord ye dragon"

The Loch Ness Monster

Champ

etc...

I thought you had your 2 guys locked and loaded pump <_<

That's the Commissioner's job
I tried to facilitate discussion. It was a ghost town. I posted some rules. I asked if anyone had objections to said rules before we started. Feel free to run the next one if that's unacceptable.
