OFFICIAL WIS XVIII THREAD: An Ode to Claude Hendrix (1 Viewer)

i will teh SIM live today between 1-4pm et. if i didnt have a firewall at work i'd prolly SIM all day. so, i will leave work early. problem solved.

morning little known fact; while looking at my fielding hierarchy and grades I notice that my human mop, al orth, is a C/B+ in the OF with a 1901 slash line of 281/303/352. lifetime slash of 273/298/366 and 12 career homers. also played games at 1st, 2nd, SS. baseball has really changed......now mike pelfrey is worth 6mm.

1/24/2014 9:32 AM Customer Support Hi Nick,

This roster change has been made for arsenal70's team.

Thank you.

Billy Hamilton is 0 for 5 on stolen base attempts.
Real caught stealing stats are pretty spotty up to 1930s. WIS doesn't seem to give the early high SB guys much above a 66% success rate. When you couple that with the fact that most catchers in this sim have above average arms, the SB becomes net negative value.

I can't get to simliv on my PCs either.

Anything that has a higher security level doesn't want anything to do with that plugin, seems like WIS is run by Chinese hackers.

I had a ton of issues as well

I noticed there was a little check box that was not checked and that is why it wouldnt work. Might want to try. Cant hurt. I finally got it working after 30 minutes or so

What a game Arsenal and I just had. A 1-0 shutout by Pedro.

When I used Billy Hamilton in Sim II back in 2005 (which was also an all-timer), his SB/CS % was at least 75%. Going from memory ... but he was very solid.

I just noticed we have a roster problem. Marius Russo P 1930s is in the league twice, on my roster and Larry's. Larry took him in the 14th round, but his entry appears to have been typed over in the Google doc as it has "3k" listed in the player name so it didn't come up when I entered it in the 21st and no one caught it.
Unpossible. We delayed sim live fun ruining everything to avoid just this I thought

:coffee:

At least I got a couple live games in last night, splitting a pair with arsenal. Snuck by Eeph with two straight 2-1 nail bitters to get above. .500 for the first time - his pitching staff are all guys I was looking at. No game winning PH but a key PH getting on base via error leading to the winning run in the tenth.

If you believe in Bill James, a 75% SB success rate is RC positive but it gets RC neutral somewhere around 65%-70%. Unless you're in simlive, you can't consider situational factors but since Hamilton will have all-time great hitters coming up after him in the lineup, the cost of giving away outs goes up vs. real-life.

It's early but the offenses have been pretty quiet. Aggregate sim OPS is .709 vs a real-life MLB figure of .713 in 2013. It seems like negative stadiums are prevalent so that may have something to do with this.

And a lot of dead ballers. Seems the dead ball pitchers are more out of whack than most of the uber offensive seasons. Then again when guys have up 0-2 hrs over 300 IP that's more an outlier compared to today's game than all but maybe Ruth's monster season when no one else hit hrs.

TRADE UPCOMING:

Just a notice because we are going to have to send in a couple tickets - moving **** allen to the 1970's and 1B because I'm getting a 3B in return. Woot!

I don't want to start another wave of fun-killing, but is this legal? I always assumed once games started the player-seasons were locked in.

It potentially opens up a bunch of fatigue-related shenanigans. I realize that's not the intent here.

I was going to PM the commish, but I'm not allowed.

I'm doing it for TRE. That has to account for something.

Plus, with the M Russo fiasco, I think all preconceived notions of "rules" and "roster purity" are out the window.

it was above the slider for the security. Read something like allow java.

It's not like we let that slide though. I proactively notified everyone of the mistake as soon as I caught it, selected a new player and it has already been corrected by ticket.

Idea for next sim: the #### Allen leeg. Only players named ****, Richard, Rick, Rich (plus derivations), Allen, Alan and Al.

I assumed that years were locked in once the season starts
Me too.
:goodposting:

Decade switching is not in play IMO. Make a trade with the decades those guys are in, period.
This. **** Allen needs to stay at the season he was entered.

If it weren't for the Russo issue I could see your point. But I'm sticking by this. I was way to easy with the Sim Live preseason debacle and let that slide.

But, since that happened, I at least had to have a little fun with it.

Man y'all are too easy.

Doctor D disappointed me though, I thought you were my friend. :kicksrock:

Well, since this whole season has taken a new turn for me playing the Nipsey foil role, I could be drafted too.
