You draft a player, and that player is then off the board - you can decide which season of theirs to use anytime before we finalize rosters though. So, if I pick Cal Ripken I can decide if it's an 1980s season or 1990s, but no one else can draft Ripken at all (so if I decide to use his 1991 season, someone else can't use his 1984 season)
