OFFICIAL WIS XVIII THREAD: An Ode to Claude Hendrix (3 Viewers)

Sounds like your dad's being a good father even in his tough time. Continue to wish you all the best and your dad comfort.

Now make those picks, we don't have all night!

I vote that Hoos can make 3 picks tonight instead of just the 2 he owes. Seems fair since we're so far past the first pick owed.

Best wishes, hoos.

...

First, a little housecleaning: Mel Ott goes from 3B to LF, and switches from 1938 to 1929.

Now then ...

12.24: 3B Bill Joyce, 1890s

13.01: 1B Edgar Martinez, 1990s

Edgar, bring your 1B glove to spring training. Gonna need it.

While I was trying to avoid it (my defense is meh enough as is), I was thinking if Joyce was around next, I might have to pull the trigger and take my shot with Allen at 1B.

Gotta love the flexibility overall though - though love Ott as a 3B

Some, yes. But Jimmie Foxx's D at third was a litttle worse than Joyce's, and that was tolerable for me during last summer's sim. Wade Boggs' defense is similar in his best offensive season.

Martinez is graded at 1B, so he won't be a total defensive failure. But, yes, he'll not be a vacuum cleaner or anything. Hoping they create more runs than they cost.

Fun fact: Sosa is the only one of my starting 9 that doesn't have an at least a B- in range.

This was most certainly not intentional. Less surprising is my team's C average glove.

Ott's offensive season in 1929 is significantly stronger, as well. It's a move that works for me on a few levels. Definitely cost some FLDG%, though, no doubt about it.

Since Acer has taken both of his 90's and his 2000's I am going to skip him and grab my pick. In the off-chance he can decade shift guys and figure out a way to take my pick, I will re-pick if necessary

Keith Foulke 90's

Ill move schilling to 90s, ripken to 80s and quisenberry to 70s and draft Foulke.

Just kidding

Ill take Hugh Bedient, RP, Federal league
