OFFICIAL WIS XVIII THREAD: An Ode to Claude Hendrix (2 Viewers)

STAN THE MAN IS ON THE BLOCK

Would need another superstar back, perhaps someone's under-performing high round pick at 1B, OF or MI. He's doin ok, but just ok and my greco trade Hack Wilson for Sam Thompson worked out well for both of us so why not try again.

Brady sends:

OF Sammy Sosa 2000s
SS Hubie Brooks 1980s
RHP Red Ruffing 1940s
C Don Padgett 1930s

Koya sends:

OF Stan Musial 1940s
C Jorge Posada 2000s
RHP Steve Ontiveros 1980s
1B Dolph Camilli 1930s

With that said, I ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NEED to deal 1B Dolph Camilli (1930s) or 1B Jim Bottomley (1920s) for a SS. Inquire within.

And I have Vern Stephens, the underperformer 1940's SS for a Pitcher... starter or rp, but would have to be decent innings at least.

Or, I'd turn around Sammy Sosa for a comparable monster bat at 1B (or OF that would be say more doubles not as many HRs).

The trade wheels are turning.

Finally got my computer to work with Live.

Should be in there all day tomorrow and starting weekday evenings.

Brady sends:

1B Jim Bottomley (1920s)

C Carlton Fisk (1970s)

SP/RP Tex Hughson (1940s)

Koya sends:

SS Vern Stephens (1940s)

C Ivy Wingo (1920s)

OF Oscar Gamble (1970s)

We have now switched our catching tandems completely (though Rudy York remains koya property).

Actually, Rudy York is now on Greco's team (I think, I can't keep it straight). He was included in the deal to get Hack Wilson.

I would still like to upgrade my SS. Can offer Rizzuto or Travis, along with Fred Lynn or Willie Keeler, for a SS upgrade.

I want to take this moment, about 60 games in, to say that I have the best record in the National League...

I'm pretty sure it won't last, but I'm still pretty happy with it.

Thank you, that is all.

Just about a third of the way through. JFrancos been on a tear, races are beginning to take shape though there's a long way to go.

That Werber guy sucks. He made all three outs!

That was what we were supposed to take away from it, right?

So I win last nights PM game with back to back to back triples.

Today I get 9 runs... ALL NINE with two outs.

I notice Koya making all these trades trying to match decades with decades in trades. That's not the rule as far as I know, you can trade whomever you want for what ever you want just as long as you don't try and switch **** Allen 1969 to **** Allen 1971.

Nice effort going through all that work for no apparent reason, champ. :hifive:

Interesting. The original post is noticeably silent on the issue. Though there's definitely been chatter about having to keep decades, I think Larry even asked a ways back.Ruling?

I'm all for anything that gets more trades, but my havoc causing days are behind me so I need to know what's kosher

Players definitely need to stay in the season they were drafted.

As for trading players from different decades, it looks like I didn't make a proper provision for that in the rules. My intent with the league format was to have everyone keep two players from each decade throughout the process, and as far as I can tell all the trades have been made with that in mind. I feel like there is precedence from past leagues (Alphabet Soup and Every Team League for example), where we have forced teams to abide by the same roster restrictions throughout the season.

At this point, I'd prefer that we keep trades within the spirit of keeping the theme alive, but I do freely admit it was an oversight by me to not provide some sort of clarifying rule before this thing got started.

For the record though, it was never explicitly stated. Essentially Koya created the rule himself by arranging all these decade for decade trades.

Ok enough throwing Koya under the bus. I believe it was Larry who asked the question before any of my blockbuster deals and the answer from moops was pretty clear albeit not by the commish and we all seemed to agree. I'd say most of us assumed we needed to keep the structure, though as noted it was not explicitly stated.

Now, back to matching decades.... Let's trade
