***OFFICIAL Yankees vs Indians ALDS Thread*** (2 Viewers)

If the Indians win this game and get Sabathia for 1,4, 7 and Carmona for 2 and 5 the Red Sux are in trouble.
It will be a great series, no doubt...but they did just annihilate the Angels, whom many (most from this board) picked to win the series. Beckett and Schill counter Sabathia / Carmona fairly well, Boston BP is much better then Cleveland, and Boston offense is better then Cleveland. Add in home field, and I would say it is a hard series to call

If that is the scenario, it's going to be a nice series to watch if you like pitching. Not saying the Yankees are dead here because Byrd is hittable, but they need to get to him soon.

Only point I would make here is not to underestimate the Indians pen (sans Borowski, of course)...The rest of their arms are tough...

Betancourt and Perez are tough, hence the comment that the Yankees need to get to Bryd soon. Borowski is decent in save situations, really bad otherwise.

But just like in the 1st after Jeter's single, the next Yankees hit, we'll hear "there's alot of game left". ;) Like we're idiots.

holy ####, that was a quick hook
I remember Torre doing that with Roger in 2003's game 7 in the 4th inning. Clemens was throwing 94mph, but everything was Schiraldi-esque right down the middle. In an elimination game, Torre isn't afraid of hurting feelings by making a quick move if he feels his guy is off.Wang let 6 baserunners on in 1+ innings, bad call on the HBP or not. Torre made the right move.

:wall: You can't tell from that angle at all...

I'm not saying there's no chance, but he didn't even shake his hand...

Every batter I;ve ever seen hit in the hand shakes it involuntarily...
Looked like it hit his hand first then the bat just from the replay. Nothing was totally clear though.

First inning and top 2nd cliff notes? Got pulled over on the way home from work...
Wang sucked, ARod K'ed with 2 men on, Mussina wasn't much better, Byrd unveiled a dastardly double windup, shoppach may or may not have been hit by a pitch, and Cano owning all doubters...
