Not like that's the biggest issue we have right now...ya, I would say they got the call wrongNo redness or swelling? BS...![]()
No doubt, that definitely did not hit himNo redness or swelling? BS...![]()
Yeah, I can't bring myself to root for the Yankees, but as a Sox fan I am aware that we may benefit from a NY win tonight...If the Indians win this game and get Sabathia for 1,4, 7 and Carmona for 2 and 5 the Red Sux are in trouble.
It will be a great series, no doubt...but they did just annihilate the Angels, whom many (most from this board) picked to win the series. Beckett and Schill counter Sabathia / Carmona fairly well, Boston BP is much better then Cleveland, and Boston offense is better then Cleveland. Add in home field, and I would say it is a hard series to callIf the Indians win this game and get Sabathia for 1,4, 7 and Carmona for 2 and 5 the Red Sux are in trouble.
If that is the scenario, it's going to be a nice series to watch if you like pitching. Not saying the Yankees are dead here because Byrd is hittable, but they need to get to him soon.It will be a great series, no doubt...but they did just annihilate the Angels, whom many (most from this board) picked to win the series. Only point I would make here is not to underestimate the Indians pen (sans Borowski, of course)...The rest of their arms are tough...It will be a great series, no doubt...but they did just annihilate the Angels, whom many (most from this board) picked to win the series. If needed, Joba will and can ppitch tonight...so no Hughes, no Joba tonight...any other Yankee pitchers out?
Betancourt and Perez are tough, hence the comment that the Yankees need to get to Bryd soon. Borowski is decent in save situations, really bad otherwise.Only point I would make here is not to underestimate the Indians pen (sans Borowski, of course)...The rest of their arms are tough...It will be a great series, no doubt...but they did just annihilate the Angels, whom many (most from this board) picked to win the series. Hitting .500 w/2 outs and RISP is pretty amazing, regardless of opposing pitcher"this is absolutely amazing".what?we're hitting Wang and Mussina. AMAZING.
Oh sure, but Cleveland isn't done scoring either, I would reckon..Byrd's last 3 outings...gave up 9, 10, and 11 hits...this game is far from over
I remember Torre doing that with Roger in 2003's game 7 in the 4th inning. Clemens was throwing 94mph, but everything was Schiraldi-esque right down the middle. In an elimination game, Torre isn't afraid of hurting feelings by making a quick move if he feels his guy is off.Wang let 6 baserunners on in 1+ innings, bad call on the HBP or not. Torre made the right move.holy ####, that was a quick hook
Over a 30 inning span? That's not too long. They've just been hitting in bunches all series.Hitting .500 w/2 outs and RISP is pretty amazing, regardless of opposing pitcher"this is absolutely amazing".what?we're hitting Wang and Mussina. AMAZING.

that's more on the statistician than the announcing crew. What announcing ignorance...Mussina's first relief appearance saved the Yanks in the 2003 ALCS against the Sox...

You can't tell from that angle at all...

I'm not saying there's no chance, but he didn't even shake his hand...
Every batter I;ve ever seen hit in the hand shakes it involuntarily...
Weeks doesn't get a single there, nosiree Bob...

Wang sucked, ARod K'ed with 2 men on, Mussina wasn't much better, Byrd unveiled a dastardly double windup, shoppach may or may not have been hit by a pitch, and Cano owning all doubters...First inning and top 2nd cliff notes? Got pulled over on the way home from work...
