***Official Yankees vs. Tigers ALDS Thread *** (1 Viewer)

How are the Yankees losing to the Tigers, when Detroit ended the season losing their last five games, and Jim Leyland didn't start benching his players to SHAKE THINGS UP!

 
Are they waiting for this Cards/Padres game to finish before they start? What's the deal? I have ESPN here and no FOX until this game is over and the Cards are coming back. :hot:

:goodposting: It's pretty clear Torre wants Cabrera's defense in a very spacious outfield and some potential spark in the line up...Melky has been a sparkplug player all year...He therefore has to decide who to DH...Matsui has been hitting very well this series, so he goes to DH...That leaves Sheffield vs. Giambi to play 1st...I'd play Giambi, but obvioulsy Joe has a reason....Remember, Giambi has had a sore wrist, and except for that homer, he hasn't looked very good at all...This is hardly the cause celebre that you are turning it into Chase...And if that's the reason we don't win this game, we don't deserve it anyway...Geez, how about some positive vibes and good karma here for the pinstripes guys...

:confused: The NYY-DET game is on Fox. The official start time is 430

I don't have FOX, that's my point. The gametime says 4:00 everywhere I see but 4:30 is fine with me. This Cards/Pads game is almost done.

I said from the beginning of the playoffs he should keep Cabrera in LF, Matsui at DH, and Giambi at 1B, and keep ARod batting 4th. We have too many HR hitters in our lineup and we need guys like Cabrera at the bottom of the lineup. And does Torre think ARod will feel good about himself batting 8th? Wow I think Im gonna vomit.

The sore wrist is the only legit reason there. If Torre came out and said that, I'd have no problem.But to sit our best offensive player -- and the best offensive player in the AL playoffs -- because he wants to play Melky Cabrera in a spacious outfield is ludicrous. We score zero yesterday; we need all the help we can get.

I think lineup movements are overrated, but yes I don't see where the positives can come for A-Rod's psyche by batting him 8th.
 
I have my Yankee hat on, Im holding my David Cone perfect game ticket stub, and Im playing with the 98 WS ball signed by all the Yankees. I gotta change up the luck.

IMO you are the one over reacting here Chase...Yeah, they got shut out yesterday...But this is a team that was being hailed as perhaps the best offense of the past quarter century...Getting shut out in one game doesn't render them all Rey Ordonez all of a sudden...Torre has always made little tweaks here and there in the postseason on a game by game basis...I'm willing to give him and his 4 rings the benefit of the doubt...
 
I'd like to take this time to remind everyone that dopey Billy Beane traded Bonderman away merely because he was drafted by Grady Fuson as a HS player. Compounding a potential mistake by Fuson's with one of his own. Way to go! :thumbup:

Please for the love of God take him out for somebody. Please for gods sakes. I told you guys we had no chance today. Funny thinking we had a chance with Wright pitching. I cant see us scoring 3R with the way our guys are lunging. And thats if we hold them to 3.
