Brandon Jacobs got a little bit dinged up when Brandon Jacobs ran into while Jacobs was standing on the sideline and Lorenzen ran out of bounds on a scramble. what a slob lorenzen is
I can't believe that fat body is playing in the NFL. Haha. I remember watching him waddle around in college, pure comedy. If Jacobs misses any kind of time this injury will be up there with the punter who hit himself with an axe in the locker room.
Personally, if I see a 285 pounder running at me and I have NFL level reflexes, I get out of the way instead of letting the Pillsbury Throwboy step on my foot. And then Jacobs gets mad at him and pushes him in the back. Move out the way Brandon!

He's supposed to be watching cheering his teammates on. He should have helped Lorenzen, grabbing onto him or somesuch.I think hefty lefty plays this year but we're not allowed to predict injuries around here as it's a "politically incorrect" thing to do.

I was actually thinking McGahee would look better. Hmmmm.......not good from tonight's sample.
He looked like he always has, not suprising to me. Ofcourse I would think he will run into more stout run defenses than the Giants lol

To recap Madden's reply to Al Michael's simple question of "How much is gas?":

I don't know. I have no idea. We used to use diesel. That was cheaper than regular gas. Then somehow it became more expensive. I don't know how much it is. But we did use diesel, now we use regular. They cost about the same. But I don't know how much gas is.

Madden describing a ruptured achilles -- "that thing just goes up like a lampshade" :mellow:I can only assume he meant "...like a window blind"
Yeah i was struggling with that simile as well.
I'm not watching the game, but as similes go, it was pretty good, especially for Madden. When you snap the achilles, the upper part rolls back like ..... oh he said lampshade, not window shade????????????

Michaels said Billick when asked about Boller returning in 08 said "Why would he?"That's something to think about right there.Tiki and Cris played who would you trade Eli for and only came up with about 10 Qbs in the league, they said.Only week 2, yet I think if Olson commands the O again like last week, that could be the beginning of the end for Troy Smith in BAL if he struggles alot like last week.Last week he was 3 for 11 while Olson led 3 scoring drives, was 7 for 9 with a TD.
McNair, Boller and Olsen rostered and Smith on the practice squad......NOT to be grabbed by Clev like 2 guys over the last 3 yrs, w/their drafting Quinn

just briefly but Smith looks better than Olson tonight IMO so....scratch that, competition back on

So are you agreeing that he didn't look impressive? I thought he looked slow, as usual. Not impressed at all. Unless the Ravens blocking improves, McGahee will be looking at Jam Lewis #'s - 3.6 per carry.

Ahmad Bradshaw had an impressive 43 yard run and wiffed in pass pro causing a sack. He didn't get a look until after Jacobs, Droughns, Ward (who is apparently pushing Reuben), Ryan Grant, and even Rodney Burgess (a pretty talented rookie in his own right).

I doubt it but McNair needs to throw some deeper balls. He, himself, limits the field the D needs to cover if he doesn't and makes it harder on the RB.

Grant has looked good last 2 weeksHe was supposed to be an afterthought. Wonder if he can land on another team then

Another nice run for Bradshaw. He has nice vision and does remind me of Tiki (against the future no longer Ravens).

Ya know, there's this guy that frequents these boards that I put alot of stock in his rookie RB rankings in April and Bradshaw was just not "up there" on his list.

Bradshaw is REALLY good. Droughns has looked like the Giants 4th best RB thus far.
I don't think he's making this team. Practice squad maybe, maybe not.
He will make the team. He's a Jerry Reese special.Who's "Rodney Burgess" btw?
Small schooler, Coastal Carolina, tall 6-3, big 230, nice hands, tough down hill type. Sort of a destitute man's Brandon Jacobs. I've been waiting for Bradshaw and Burgess got snaps first. He looked good catching the ball and in pass pro. He played in Randy Moss's college all-star game -- the Inta Juice thing, I think.eta: disagree on Bradshaw. why do yo say he's a Jerry Reese special.

Whoever that guy is, he's not on the Giants... Rotation tonight was Jacobs, Droughns, Ward, Grant, Bradshaw.Bradshaw is a lock to make the team. He was a Jerry draft pick. He won't make it to the PS.

1-10-NYG 27 (9:49) 8-T.Hasselbeck pass short right to 46-R.Burgess to NYG 38 for 11 yards (59-J.Martin).

1-10-NYG 38 (9:07) 44-A.Bradshaw right tackle to BLT 19 for 43 yards (24-D.Pittman, 41-B.Blackshire).
Rodney's NFL.com/Giants pageReese's 6th and 7th rounders haven't been gold, btw. link

My bad. I thought you were talking about a RB... Burgess is a TE who won't make the team.Last year was still under EA's watch. Regardless, they have been very happy with Bradshaw and he's performed well in camp and the games. They feel like they got a steal. He will be on the team.

No, that's my bad then. I thought I saw them using him as an RB out of the backfield, but no matter, he's much more an H-Back TE than RB. Thanks for the correction. How many backs will they carry? I like Bradshaw. I drafted Bradshaw. I pimped Bradshaw in draft season. I compared him to Tiki long before the Giants drafted him. I don't see them cutting Droughns or Ward; Grant seems ahead of him. I can't see them keeping five.

Yeah, using the TEs that way has largely been a product of only having one true FB (Robert Douglas) on the roster. Shockey and Boss are locks so the third guy really needs to be able to block. Unfortunately Burgess is quite a bit undersized for that role (6'4, 230).The way things are looking right now I think they keep 4 HBs: Jacobs, Droughns, Ward, Bradshaw. Grant has had a nice pre-season but he's not as experienced as Droughns, as powerful as Grant or anywhere near as talented as Bradshaw.
