After beating the Seahawks 40-21, they are now only 1 game behind the division leading Rams for a playoff berth.
All aboard!
All aboard!
I think you mistook your train wreck for a bandwagon. After beating the Seahawks 40-21, they are now only 1 game behind the division leading Rams for a playoff berth.

I wondered when the Bay area's favorite troll would show up. Welcome!I think you mistook your train wreck for a bandwagon. After beating the Seahawks 40-21, they are now only 1 game behind the division leading Rams for a playoff berth.

There's no shame in making the playoffs.Someone has to make the playoffs from this division. But whoever does should be ashamed.
It's called peaking at the right time buddyI think you mistook your train wreck for a bandwagon. After beating the Seahawks 40-21, they are now only 1 game behind the division leading Rams for a playoff berth.

I like the way you think. Take a seat up front. It's called peaking at the right time buddyI think you mistook your train wreck for a bandwagon. After beating the Seahawks 40-21, they are now only 1 game behind the division leading Rams for a playoff berth.
All aboard! Not really hoping or expecting the Niners to make the playoffs but if they do then good for them. We played the Saints, Eagles, and Falcons close in the beginning of the season so if we have to play one of them in the WC round I wouldn't be surprised if we actually won a game at Candlestick.
Everyone is welcome...welcome aboard! It's San Francisco. We love everybody.Do you accept refugee fans of 2-win teams that think SF might actually have a chance to do something still?
oh the homerism...shouldn't you save this stuff for the 49erswebzone where you can all debate how much alex smith is better than peyton manningwhoever wins this division is an embarrassment and for the 49ers why win...low talent team does not need a draft pick in the high twenties.
I dont get why everyone is so bitter about the 9ers. If they make the playoffs, its not the 9ers fault that everyone else in their division stinks as well. I didn't hear everyone else crying about it when the Cardinals made the superbowl a couple of years ago.
I think STL will be, and should be, favored in STL against SF. I also think STL may very well beat KC this weekend if Cassell is out. I'd give the Niners a 15% chance or so to win the division, but I'm definitely on the bandwagon.People are bitter about SF because everyone had them as their breakout team in their preseason predictions and were burned. It's understandable.everybody in the nfc west loses this week. 49ers to SDSEA to ATLSTL to KCARI could win but they almos toutso if we beat STL and ARI we get in. i see a great chance of this scenario playing out
If you're desperate sure. It's a spread formation which means they'll pass a lot more. But the Chargers have a good defense and it's Alex Smith throwing. Plus Crabtree seems to be a bit of a space cadet out there...so much talent but his route running needs work.Anyone think Crabtree is worth a start tonight?? :desperate:
Also desperate here and I can't decide. Other options are Earl Bennett, Brandon Gibson, Ben Obomanu, Rob Gronkowski, Maurice Morris. Really struggling with this one. Everything I read says bench him but I'm not thrilled with my other options.Anyone think Crabtree is worth a start tonight?? :desperate:
As I was saying...I wondered when the Bay area's favorite troll would show up. Welcome!I think you mistook your train wreck for a bandwagon. After beating the Seahawks 40-21, they are now only 1 game behind the division leading Rams for a playoff berth.
All aboard!
OOPS ! Sad part is, they'll prob finish 6-10 and still end up only one game outta firstStill mathematically alive, right?
Remaining scenarios to win the division:1. St. Louis goes 1-2 or 0-3 (losing to Seattle in Week 17) while Seattle goes 1-2 (losing in Weeks 15 & 16)2. St. Louis goes 1-2 (beating Seattle in Week 17) while Seattle goes 1-2 or 0-3Either Seattle or St. Louis MUST lose this week.(Of course, this all assumes that San Francisco will go 2-0, beating St. Louis and Arizona).Still mathematically alive, right?
Still mathematically alive, right?
and to that fantastic spot of having a crappy team with very little talent and having a terrible season and still picking in the latter end of the draft...fantastic!So far, so good. San Francisco just needs the following to happen:1. go 2-0 (beating St. Louis and Arizona)2. Seattle loses at least once (to either Tampa Bay OR St. Louis)We're inching closer and closer to having the first 7-9 playoff team in NFL history.![]()

This is good stuff. And they'll get a home game to boot. Love to see them knock one of the big boys off in the playoffs. Give something new for BSPN to piss and moan about over the summer. So far, so good. San Francisco just needs the following to happen:1. go 2-0 (beating St. Louis and Arizona)2. After getting absolutely embarrassed by the chargers i wouldn't count on it...if they somehow make it in its going to be a tv turn offer by the middle of the second quarterThis is good stuff. Early in the season. As those teams have gotten better the 49ers have gotten way worse. The D can't stop anyone, the O can't even decide on a qb mostly because neither of them can throw a football. Early season games are much different than late...I take it you missed the Saints game? Mathematically???? They're very alive. They're practically a lock after this week's gamesStill mathematically alive, right?
SEA plays @ TB, they're horrible on the road. STL is the toughest part of this road to the playoffs. I like our chancesSo far, so good. confetti:Boatloads ofAnother week gone by, another step closer to the Post Season! Smith is going to take us to the promised land! SING COACH SING! All aboard!!!! CHOOOOO-CHOOOOOOO!!!
Singletary engaging in psychological warfare with Rams
The man who once firmly stated that his 49ers would win by imposing their will on the opposition has turned to mind games on the eve of the team's most critical game of the season. Mike Singletary said he's decided who will start at quarterback for Sunday's game in St. Louis and that he's informed his quarterbacks of the decision. He's just not telling the media or the Rams.
In fact, when asked if both Alex Smith and Troy Smith could see time in the Edward Jones Dome, Singletary said, "It's possible." Both players, he said, would get practice repetitions this week. The 49ers are practicing today - usually a day off - giving them an extra session in the run up to the Rams.
I asked Singletary if staying mum on the subject was a bit of gamesmanship to make the Rams defense prepare for two very different quarterbacks. He dismissed that. "The only real advantage that we could have is to go there and play well," he said. "All that other stuff is cat and mouse stuff." So why not announce the starter? "Because it's something that I don't really want to announce right now."
During last week's loss to the Chargers, Singletary contemplated pulling Alex Smith and inserting Troy Smith. But he couldn't, he said, because Troy Smith didn't get any practice snaps during the abbreviated work week and because he didn't have the benefit of learning the full offense during training camp.
That won't be the case this week, Singletary said. "I'm not really going to split the reps. I'm going to make sure each guy gets the appropriate reps." That statement could be an indication that Alex Smith is starting the game. Why? Because Troy Smith would need practice repetitions if he were called upon to fill in for a struggling Alex Smith but Alex Smith wouldn't necessarily need those reps if he was called upon to replace Troy Smith. Furthermore, if Troy Smith were starting, he likely would require all of the practice repetitions because, once again, he has a limited command of the offense.
