Deep with options and potential?seemed I was always about to pick a guy I WANTED a round early, but someone else beat me to it.You always got someone in mind to take, not like I was clueless, but missing on a lot of picks becomes a pain in the ###.Mike Vick just makes me uneasy. He can be awesome, I got Foles as 3rd QB, but I just think that was a bad pick. Gut feeling only.
I guess I sort of did, but it was an auction, actually.Keeper league, started out with having to make my keeper decisions before the 3rd pre-season game. Was keeping top good RBs, and one of the top TEs, choice for a 4th keeper came down to K Smith, Ridley, or a 2nd/3rd tier WR. Was planning most of TC on going with Ridley, but his fumble, minor injury, and seeming "demotion" all occured right before we had to name keepers. At the same time, LeShoure was still hurt, and Best was reported as going on the PUP. Went with K Smith as 4th keeper, then he sprains his ankle, and Ridley looks really good.That was the first "Uh-Oh" moment.Get to the auction. One of the first players nominated was Brady. He was one of my targets. I had him pegged as going for about 23% of the cap (highest QB before this year went for 17%), and I had chosen my keepers in order to give me the freedom to use 25% of my cap on him. He went for 37%! I didn't get him. Second "Uh-Oh" moment.Then I got one of the top WRs (used 27% of my cap; slightly more than I wanted), and waited on the "value" that would come with the deep WRs this year. Never happened. I got stuck with Nate Washington, Malcolm Floyd, Steve Smith (StL) as my WR2 by committee guys.Third "Uh-Oh" moment.Unfortunately, I didn't wake up and say, "oh my draft went better than I thought." I have a good, but risky QB, unexciting backup QB, two real solid RBs, a solid WR1, question marks at WR2, two iffy RBs to choose from as my Flex, and a top TE.My team could do well, or it could flop, but I felt like my draft didn't go as well as it could have. My league-mates (most of them) drafted differently than they have in the past, and I didn't react well enough in time.Then to top it off, the head gasket in my car cracked on the way home!
