Like many of his teammates, Steelers rookie OLB Lawrence Timmons has been taking reps at a different position than his designated spot on the depth chart. HC Mike Tomlin said that Timmons, who has seen time at inside linebacker, is just trying to find his groove. "Lawrence is just trying to get in where he can fit in," Tomlin said. "Thankfully, he's a sharp guy and he's capable of cross training positionally. He seems to be picking it up pretty well."

This is a bit more positive spin I've seen than in other places, where it sounded like he wasn't impressing on the outside. He has been battling groin problems since the spring. Not looking like he'll have much value this year. Woodley, on the other hand, seems to progressing nicely and earning a spot in the rotation outside.

I think most of us who drafted Timmons were assuming he wouldn't have much value until/unless Pittsburgh moves to a 4-3 Tampa2 setup and puts him at WILL. I'm actually encouraged to hear he's getting some work inside, as he could potentially have value sooner rather than later if he starts to see significant playing time there.

That's sort of my line of thinking here, but then I'm an IDP newbie.
