Why does Dan Patrick allow Olbermann so much airtime. He spent the entire time ripping on Matt Hasselbeck....blaming HIM for the Seahawks loss and saying it was one of the worst performances by a QB in Super Bowl history......

I'm a Steelers fan and I disagree with you. I thought Hasselbeck played well and was hurt by drops more than anything else.

Hasselbeck played well. His numbers would have been much better if his receivers had held on to the ball a little better. To blame him for the loss is absurd.

About 500 posts this morning and you're the only one who's mentioned seeing a hold on the first down.

I've only been here about ten minutes so I haven't read all 500 posts, but I have seen it mentioned elsewhere today. Not sure who the receiver on that side was, but he basically had the defender in a headlock.

I agree with that. I loved Olberman on ESPN, and he and Patrick made a great duo. But since then, he's been horrible...As far as his comments about Hasselbeck. I didn't hear them, but from the sound of it, I think he's off base. No, Hasselbeck didn't have a good game, but one of the worst ever? Nah. Hell, Roethlisberger was worse, and he played in the same game! There have been some bad, bad performances in the Super Bowl in the past. Hasselbeck's was not one of the worst...

Hasselbeck did more damage with his legs than Ben did. 35 yards rushing and some key first downs.Ben made a couple nice plays, but that doesn't offset anything. I can't recall a game where a QB didn't make any good plays, and I've been watching Joey Harrington for 4 years.

I agree that Hasselbeck did not have a bad game -- it was his receivers that let him down.

That being said he was fortunate not to have had another pass intercepted in the first half -- it was right to Steelers CB Ike Taylor but he didn't catch the ball.

And he was also fortunate that Farrior got a few fingers on him before he fumbled because Hass was on his way down regardless and the fumble would not have been overturned.

Ben played a much worse game obviously but did make some big runs to move the chains and the play he made on 3rd and 28 was great. He also had a couple drops, especially the one to Ward in endzone that would have been a TD. And he made a key block on the Randel El TD pass to Ward.

Still, Hasselbeck clearly played better than Ben.

Stop the presses, the Seattle Seahawks receivers have the dropsies.....It's been going on for about three years now, granted with K-Drop cut and D-Jax injured surer hands have been on the much of field this year - seems like they just reverted to their old ways...

You got to be kidding. Hasselbeck was the best player on the field "hands down". Roethlisberger was pathetic! His QB rating was 22.2. Hello?

Best player on the field? His play at the end of the both halves was some of the worst I've seen in a Super Bowl. Had an open Darrell Jackson twice and threw the ball out of bounds. Terrible clock management both times. Lousy audibles. Threw the ball to a WR who wasn't able to get out of bounds.

Aside from that, he had many more overthrows during the game, plus that awful INT. Only two scoring drives, and one was handed to him on a silver platter by the Herndon INT.

In total, he was 26 for 49, or 53%. That's sad. Take away three drops if you want, but 26 for 46 isn't much better.

Not that Roethlisberger was any better, of course...
