OLED TVs (1 Viewer)

Anyone hear anything about these?  Read something about them for the first time today and was blown away.  Can't wait until these become the norm.

Essentially, they are flexible displays that can bent and shaped.  They use organic compounds as LED emitters - I haven't read all the mechanics on them, but I know I want one.

Holographic TVs would be awesome, although I'm uncertain how those will work in practice.  

Got to use the Microsoft hololens system a couple of weeks ago, and I was very impressed.  There's no doubt that there's a big future for assisted virtual reality, both in gaming and education.

That's awesome.  I've seen the Hololens YouTube videos, but have never had he opportunity to try it.  It looks unreal and groundbreaking, if it can takeoff.

It was really really good.   Applications for it are going to be very expensive to build, and that, plus the equipment price, poses the biggest hurdles to the mass market.   I don't see how this tech can fail to at least gain a small % of consumer electronic spending, and that's the worst case scenario.   

I do doubt that it'll replace TVs any time in the foreseeable future.
