One city in Canada. Which to visit? Why? (1 Viewer)

I'll be in Montreal for 3 nights in a few weeks for work. I'll be staying right by Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau airport. Is there anything exciting to do in the evening in that general proximity?
Yeah, grab a cab/metro to downtown Montreal.

In the planning stages now.  Airbnb looks very reasonable and pet friendly (Montreal has a reputation as the most pet friendly city in North America) and I wrote down anything from this thread I thought to be pertinent.  Probably will go to Q City for a night also, maybe two.  I sent Chet a note to provide recommendations but this thread has some good info already, looking forward to this Schwartz's place.  Sounds like Katz's!

Been way too long since I've been to Montreal now that the Expos are gone; it used to be an annual summer trip, usually around Jazz Festival time. But Schwartz's is a must.

Anyone ever been to Gibby's? It was probably about 20 years ago by now but I remember it being a great meal and not too outrageous. Place is in an old 18th century stable.

Planning a bachelor party for the summer and the bachelor wants to goto Montreal. Where should we look to stay?

My favorite spot for a bachelor party.  What's the balance between debauchery and TOTAL debauchery? Like goin to strip clubs and hit up the clubs, or lines of yayo on hot 18 year old escorts asses and then hot the 18 and over clubs?

Probably want to stay someplace close to St Catherine, sorta between Crescent (touristy block but can be fun, especially for a bach party) and St Laurent (more high end clubs and spots, good restaurant options and eventually gets close to the uni)

Thanks. Probably not total debauchery. I personally will probably skip the strip clubs but I'm sure some guys might wanna go. I heard they were phenomenal there. Gonna plan one big dinner and either bar hop or clubbing.

Wow Toronto gets a lot of hate. I can't understand how it could be ranked below Calgary or Halifax unless you aren't doing it right. Sure the Stampede is awesome, but outside of that, Calgary is pretty bland. I also don't think I could spend more than a day in Halifax, despite living there for several years as a kid, without poking my eyes out.
It wasn't intended as a ranking, rather it was just a list of 7 good cities and places to visit if you were travelling to Canada and I will now add Quebec City to that list after visiting that city last year.

If you're actually a Doctor, you'll be able to REALLY enjoy "Au Pied De Cochon"

There is a reason Bourdain busts his nut everytime he's around the chef... it's one of the most fantastic and original restaurants in the world. To me, it's a landmark that shouldn't be missed by anyone who isnt afraid to spend a couple extra dollars on an experience.

The food is sooo rich though, that you will not be able to eat as much as you wish you could. Great place!
