Curious to hear feedback for someone who's been hands on with both an HTC One M8 and this OnePlus.

I am SOOOOOOO tempted. But my brain is telling me to wait until the next Nexus is announced so I can see what that has. If the One had wireless charging, I'd definitely do it. Giving that up won't be easy.

Got an invite today and pounced.
I know [icon] has talked about the horrors of T-Mobile in Memphis, but I do a lot of wi-fi calling anyway and I have Skype (and a ton of Skype credit) for that, so $30 plan here I come!

Supposedly there are physical buttons for back, home, and swap that you can turn on w/ a menu setting if you like.

Those are the only ones I use. At the bottom of the screen. They are touch sensitive, just have to touch them but not press them. Why use screen real estate for another set of buttons above those??

The physical buttons that are etched into the screen at the bottom? Mine were just enabled from the day I bought it I believe. You may have to remove whatever theme pack you were using previously, just go with the stock OnePlus setup, it's pretty great.

Just got the OnePlus and am installing all the stuff I had on my Moto X.
Early impressions: I love this damn thing. Beautiful, customizable, and I'm finding T-Mobile works fine in my office.

Also, I have Google Voice, so I have wi-fi calls nailed. Coming from Republic, where wi-fi calling was standard, this is cool.
Although, T-Mobile may be ready to introduce wi-fi calling to non-TMobile devices soon.

Welp. T-Mobile has exactly 0 bars in my apartment. 1st floor of a 2 floor building not 5 minutes from downtown.
Consumer Cellular, come on down!
Edit: Seems to be getting one bar without my bumper case and it hasn't dipped completely out since.

Test call over cell: So-so. Worked better the closer I got to the exterior wall. Never lost connection, but did break up the further "in" my apartment I got. I usually sit near a window anyway, so I think I'll be ok. If nothing else, I can always fall back on...
Test call over Google Hangouts wi-fi: Crystal clear. No issues except occasional voice degradation on their end that is typical with VoIPs.
With what I get for the price, I think I'll stay with T-Mobile for now. But, I have to baby my phone now because bumper case = bye bye signal. I'll probably just leave the case off at home since it slips on and off fairly struggle free.

Bought a sim card at Sears, called the 888 number, and I have had nothing less than 3 out of 5 bars on my route home and in my apartment, where I've not gone below 4 bars. Oh, and I can have my bumper case on.
CC uses AT&T towers. Check them out and if you want to save $10 off the bat, shoot me a PM and I will shoot you a referral email.

It does give you the option to port your number on the website. Not sure about conversion since I didn't bother going through the process. More than the TMobile plan, but if it works...15 a month for 200 anytime minutes
30 a month for 15k texts and 2.5 GB data (their biggest data plan).
I am on WiFi a lot and my data usage is usually below that.
Coverage is muy bueno.

Check out Net10 next month. You can get unlimited calling/texts and 3gb data for the same price.

Nice. Consumer Cellular lets me cancel within 30 days no questions asked (supposedly), so I may give this a whirl earlier than that. The 2.5 GB limit makes me a bit nervous.

Net10 is unlimited*... the * meaning that they have a soft cap on high speed data. So after the 3GB on the $45 plan, you still have access to throttled data.

I had some trouble with the APN settings getting mobile data to work. Placed a call to Consumer Cellular tech support. Spoke to a VERY friendly American lady who was able to help me out and speak clearly in the process. Lady I spoke to last night setting up the account was also nice. Oh, and absolutely zero wait time in either case.
From what I read, Net10 has piss poor customer service (read: foreigners).
Given that Consumer Cellular has kickass customer service and should suffice for my needs (with a little bit of watching over my data...mostly just don't use Youtube as much), and given that Net10 is only a marginal improvement when you look at it, I think I'll stay with Consumer Cellular. They won me over with their tech support.

Consumer Cellular REPEATEDLY wins the Consumer Reports award for best customer service in the industry, and this is over the top dogs like Verizon/AT&T. And they win by a country mile.
Net10 outsources their call center to the Phillipeans.
You can also set your phone to warn you when you get near your monthly data limit FYI.

Yup, I have my phone set to warn me at 2 GB.
I wish they had unlimited plans, but I love them now.

5 days later and I still love this thing. My favorite two things about it:
1. Battery life. I'd say I'm a light-to-moderate user on a daily basis. I play Audible audiobooks to and from work on it, keep Facebook and Twitter updating, etc. Right now, it's at 68%. I could probably leave it off the charger and easily have juice this time tomorrow night. I had to make sure my Moto X was back on the charger when I got home from work.
2. Display. They say that you can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on devices this size, I say bullcrap. This is a beautiful phone when it comes to display and it's a noticeable step up from the smaller, 720p 1st gen Moto X.
Add in my great experience with Consumer Cellular so far and this is well on its way to surpassing the Note 2 as my favorite phone ever.

Does not. Nor does it have optical image stabilization. Those 2 reasons are why I went with the Nexus 5 over it, despite it outspeccing the N5 in pretty much every other department.

Those are the two phones I am torn between at this point. I may just say F it, and ride out the Nexus 4 for as long as I can at this point though. It may be time to get a case for it though - lol.

I keep seeing wireless charging talked about being this huge perk. I am not sure I see the huge benefit. What is that great about it?

I actually really liked it when I used it with my Note 4. It's just easier not to have to plug in a cable as you're fumbling in the dark on your nightstand, which is pretty much the only time I ever plug or unplug my phone. It's easy technology to add in, and you just toss your phone on the mat to charge it, pick it up in the morning. Yes it fixes only a minor inconvenience, but it's still an improvement.

Why the S5, with its awesome water-resistant-to-one-meter design, doesn't have wireless charging standard just baffles me. Instead you have this little plastic port cover that you have to pry open with your pinky nail.

I'm used to it w/ the Nexus 4 and 7. I have a puck... N7 stays on it during the day, come home at night and plop the phone onto it and pick up the tablet. It takes under a second.
