Watching my finely crafted unbelievably "perfect" draft team fall to 0-3 in my local league has me curious how others have faired. I am rolling with Chris Johnson, Best, Calvin Johnson, Nicks, Finley, and Vick only to face a random horrible local owner (friend's wife) trot out Roy Williams, Brandon LLoyd, and John Carlson. This is an owner who drafted Flacco in Round 2 and of course he also had a good week this week. I'll be 3rd in total points and 0-3. I've never won this league despite having teams that should dominate each and every year. Yet I usually triple up on my entry fees because I usually win a few of my online leagues against other FBG's to balance it out.

I have the same issue. In most online leagues with people who seem to "know" what they are doing, I usually fair quite well. In my local league however, I will get a team that appears to be dominant every season (usually showing as a "lock" in ratemyteam), and I will be lucky to sneak into the playoffs. I've actually missed the playoffs three years in a row, finishing in the bottom three all years. This year I started 2-0, but I am not feeling confident about my squad at all. It sucks to be a laughing stock of the league when you see everyone else drafting people based on out of date magazines or just winging it based on the pre-draft auto rankings.

Looks like I need a monster game from Finley tomorrow to win one or both of my local leagues with basically an all star lineup against guys who mostly belong on the ww. I'm curious what others have experienced and if there's a reason for it. Am I too conditioned to start my studs instead of just picking up a random player because a 6 month old magazine predating training camps touts him as a sleeper?

the sick brag mixed with a lot of complaining. well done.

your situation is quite clearly unique and i am happy you were willing to share such a riveting story with us.

My main local league is my "expert" league. I'm 2-1 unless Rodgers and Jennings go hog wild tomorrow for 53 points.

In my other local "family" league has people who draft Portis in the first round ahead of ADP, I'm also 2-1 and I've made the playoffs every year but I've never won a championship in 6 years.

I don't play online leagues where I don't know anyone... what's the point there
