Opening Day Thread (1 Viewer)

My schedule starting tonight:

ATL vs. WAS 8:05PM ESPN

tomorrow:

TOR vs. NYY 1:05PM ESPN

CHI (N) vs. MIL 2:20PM ESPN2

SFG vs. LAD 4:05PM ESPN (as a giant's fan on the east coast this is the focal point of the day)

NYM vs. FLO 4:05PM SNY

LAA vs. MIN 7:05PM ESPN2

HOU vs. SDP 10:05PM ESPN2

I plan on watching being parked on the couch all day tomorrow with various assortments of chips, crackers, meats, beer and other unhealthy products until I get stir crazy and meander down to the bar a block away for a portion of the evening.

Come on in, share your schedule, thoughts, foods, take about he games whatever...

Today is the day when all teams are equal in the standings and everybody's still got a chance

This is like Christmas Eve when you were a kid....

Even though I'm a Yanks fan...I'm also a partial season ticket holder for the Phillies. I'm meeting about 15 assorted friends up at CBP for the home opener. Plan on getting there at 9:00 for the 3:05 game. Bringing the grills, the coolers, football, whiffle ball and bat, (hopefully) a beer png table, the washer pits and a deck of cards and are just going to bust balls, drink, eat, talk baseball and generally BS until about 10 minutes before gametime. Plan on bringing basic fare...burgers, dogs, Italian sausages and brats...nothing too fancy because we don't have access to a big smoker and we don't have any women comiing ( thus we only need meat). Then when the games over, we'll do it all again until the traffic clears out.

I am going to Dbacks home season opener next week. XM has done a nice job with their playball special all weekend.

New park in Washington looks great. I heard it's got only 1,500 parking spots or something unheard of. It's a nice step to encourage alternative modes of trasportation.

Braves however do not look too sharp. Wild pickoff attempt in the first, and the Johnson getting picked off.

Opening Day will be spent parked on my couch as well when the TRUE Opening Day game is broadcast (read: Cincinnati) and watch the first game of what is, to me, the best day of the year.

Go Reds and welcome back beisbol!

I was going to start this thread. Regular Crust Pizza beat me to the punch!!

I just moved back to Cincinnati. When I lived here before, we would all meet at the Hooters in Newport before the game. Those with tickets would go to the game, the rest of us would stay at Hooters and watch it on tv. This was always my move. I'm not a Reds fan, and its expensive to get a ticket to Opening Day. I always liked having cute Hooters' girls bringing me cold beer and no lines for the bathroom.

Today, we are going over to a friend's house with the baseball package. My roommate and I are heading to Jungle Jims to get Nathans hot dogs, chili cheese dip, and a case of beer.

A couple of the guys are Cub fans, and I'm a Cardinal fan. He has 2 flat screen tvs in the basement, so we can have both games on at once.

It will be a good time, but I'll miss Hooters!!

Didn't see that this thread included today's games. Sorry about the Honda--was going to start a thread for each day in the season, since I felt good gametime discussion was lacking last year.

That thought crossed my mind as well. It'll be easier than navigating individual team threads. Yankees game is delayed so far. :lmao:
