The Tomlinson owner in my league is 3-5 and looking to shake things up. The offer he accepted hurts his running game. We start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE and a Flex. For LDT, he took Foster, McNabb, Roy Williams, and Ben Watson. His RB now suck as he has Foster, A Green and J Jones. However, he upgrades his QB from Rivers to McNabb and TE from E Johnson, A Crumpler(when healthy) to Watson. His WR1 is Burress but Williams would step in as 1A. He also has Walker, S Moss and Bowe so he can consistently start 3 WR. Most league mates think despite the positional upgrades that he didn't get enough for LDT. I'd like to hear some unbiased opinions. Is this a passable trade or is something amiss? It's a PPR league if that helps.

Without knowing the scoring system and being unable to see the entire line up; I don't think it is a bad trade. Granted, he is weakening one position; but if he is upgrading 3 it could realistically offset the "big name". I think, as a whole, fantasy players get caught up in "names" too much and I think fantasy players should focus on value.

I think LTs upcoming schedule is not easy, I think McNabb will improve as the year progresses, Watson should be productive and hopefully Kitna gets back on track. I think the value of the whole trade is that the owner realizes that unless he does something drastic; he may not make it into the playoffs. I am more of a fan of trading depth to improve starters, but if this was his/her best option...more power to them. If we assume that they are losing each week by an average of 30 points per week; I would venture to say that by adding multiple starters he is more apt to make up that difference as compared to assuming LT will all of a sudden run for an extra 100 yards a game and score 2+ more TDs per game.

It doesn't seem outlandish to me.

The trade sounds perfectly acceptable to me. The only time a trade should be vetoed is if there is collusion involved.
