St. Louis Rams left tackle Orlando Pace was able to practice on Thursday, but his status for the preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday is still up in the air. "He is still questionable," coach Scott Linehan said of Pace, who has a sore shoulder. " I haven't decided what we are going to do. He felt much better yesterday and today, and so I think there is a good chance he could play."

The Rams were happy to have Steven Jackson signed but worries about Pace brought them quickly back to earth. Marc Bulger needs protection in a huge way and Pace is a big part of that.

My draft is today and man i'm telling ya ,Jackson is a monster gamble for so many reasons and this is just 1 more and i do like Jackson.

He's had two seasons in a row where he didn't play the entire season (half a season in '06 and only 1 game in '07). If he misses time again this season, I could see him hanging it up after this year or in the next year or so. I mean, the guy is going into his 12th season now, and OL don't last too much longer than that. Especially in today's NFL...

Pace's injury is nothing serious. He may actually play tonight. He said it's not related to his surgery repaired shoulder. Pace will be fine. It may take him a few weeks to get back into game speed though. He hasn't fully knocked the rust off yet. He has been tenitive so , which should be expected after surgery.
