It's a very weird situation though. Young players don't mean much when your team thinks it's going to get contracted.That's the situation Montreal was in circa 2002. The young, good players were expendable.

It's a very weird situation though. Young players don't mean much when your team thinks it's going to get contracted.That's the situation Montreal was in circa 2002. The young, good players were expendable.

That same year they also traded away Jason Bay to SD. But what about the return Montreal got when they had to trade Colon? Jeff Liefer, Rocky Biddle, and El Duque (who didn't even throw an inning for them before injuring himself).
