Out of all of the handcuffs (1 Viewer)

Its always prudent to handcuff your top RB's with the backup RB if you feel it is the right fit. I have 1 extra bench spot and I am looking at the handcuffs and trying to convince myself that one or the other is a better pickup. It may all come down to luck or nothing may happen at all (with regards to the primary RB missing time). However I think its prudent to do some analysis and have a disussion.

Javon Ringer - CJ2K seems to be rolling and has a very good style of running that leaves him less prone to injury than some of the more brusing type of RB's. Ringer's skillset would be a very good fit for this offence my prediction is that he would be a top10 RB if CJ2k were to miss time.

Toby Gerhart - another rookie playing behind a primary RB that is featured in the offence. If ADP were to miss time I think Gerhart could instantly step up and be a top15RB. ADP hasn't missed a ton of games in his career but his all-out brusing style of play does leave him open to injury at any time.

Anthony Dixon - don't know too much about him. Gore has missed 2-3 games each ot the last couple seasons and so far has played in all games this season.

Jerome Harrison - skillset is a good match for the offence if LeSean McCoy were to miss time however McCoy has not been featured in the offence since Vick took over - however McCoy's week-to-week stats are of a low-end RB1 high-end RB2 since Vick has been given the keys.

Mewelde Moore - word out of Pitsburgh is that MeMo is the primary backup in case anything should happen to Mendenhall - not sure MeMo would also get GL carries which makes him a low-end RB2. He has shown in the past though that he can be a yardage monster if given a feature role.

Thomas Clayton - Peyton hillis is a top5RB in most leagues but his running style just leaves him open to injury at any point. It's questionable also if Clayton would be a featured RB or if they would role with a committee (he and Mike Bell).

So these are 5 situations which I think deserve some analysis - there may be a payoff here - there also may be more situations that deserve some analysis. I'd appreciate any feedback as I am looking to stash someone on the end of my bench in hopes of a strong playoff performance.

Bernard Scott at some point has to get carries, that is my flyer.

Benson has been awful and so have the Bengals, not sure why he's not getting more looks.

First of all, they've not even used Mendenhall like a primary back since Ben's been back. And if Rashard gets hurt you'd likely see a combination of Moore, Redman, and even Dwyer.Moore might have some value in ppr leagues, but that would be about it.

Do you think that offence features the RB enough to make him a worthy pickup?
He could end up getting nothing. They always try to pound the ball but they have been behind so much I think the passing game is prominent because of them playing catch up.He could end up riding the bench the rest of the year, he's just a lotto ticket

I still think Snelling would be the most valuable RB if the starter (Turner) went down. It's a great running offense and their playoff schedule is favorable and the last time Snelling got a full load he went for 129 and 2 TDs.

I'm not even the Turner owner but I've been rostering Snelling all year.

Snelling is definately a guy I would look at adding - Turner has not been the most durable RB over his career.

I don't know if you consider McGahee a handcuff (or he is just good enough on his own), but out of the 8 games he has played, in my .5 PPR, he has 4 games over 9 points. Nothing great of course, but if you are in a bind you can stick him in and get something, but if Rice gets hurt (or they decide to rest him depending how the year plays out), McGahee could do really well.

I doubt he is available in most leagues, but in my 12 team PPR, I think Dixon is the only guy on the original list who is available.

Snelling gets my vote for biggest lottery ticket as he would be featured and knows the offense and catches balls - unlike Turner. But he probably is rostered (why you didn't mention him).... I like Harrison's game and think he would be as valuable as McCoy if he went down but not the classic 20-25 touch offense so yeah he might be up and down....although he certainly showed enough that any doubt in Reid's mind is gone.

Ringer is probably the best on your list - but CJ2K hasn't really missed a lot of time and seems top avoid hits like you said...

DWard would be another HUGE backup RB I think - that system in HOU has made him look good on limited touches...

Scott is definitely intriguing. It seems like Lewis doesn't fully trust him, but there are a few things working in Scott's favor: (1) Benson has not been overly productive; (2) if not already, the team is getting very close to playing for next year - which leads to; (3) Benson is a free agent next year, and the team may want to give Scott a longer look.Just my two cents...

Jason Snelling is the best handcuff in fantasy football.

After him it's a large dropoff. In PPR you could argue that he actually has more upside than Turner who gets ignored when ATL falls behind. Snelling does it all and he does it well.

While I think he's a top 5 Handcuff, Ringer won't be as successful as most think if he took over the lead role. The O-line hasn't played well and Ringer's looked mediocre most of this season. In the league I have CJ, I handcuffed Ringer, but IMO I'll take a huge hit if I had to use him. Top 10 seems a little high IMO when looking at how hard of a time Johnson's having to work to produce 100 yards up to this point.
