Who is most likely to see major playing time THIS year?

ADP's are all similar (or soon to be similar I think, for Norwood)

Cedric Benson (6.02)

DeAngelo Williams (7.09)

Marion Barber III (8.05)

Jerious Norwood (16.06 before Duckett trade)

I know ADP's should give a general indication, but what do the sharks here think?

Tough call, but I'm leaning to Benson just 'cause they drafted him so high. The two rookies are just that - rookies, and MBIII is more of a figment Parcells is planting in JJ's mind than potential starter.

You said "biggest impact" - only way that's Norwood is if Dunn misses significant time. Barber has a chance to make a big impact even if JJones stays healthy, and the guys ahead of Benson and Williams have proven to be more injury prone in their careers than Dunn has.

I think Barber wins this all day long ... Benson will be the Bears ball girl and official water bottle squirter; Norwood will be a goalline change of pace guy much like Duckett was and Williams will be a special teams 3rd down give Foster a breather guy while he learns the offence this season

I can see that, and I don't disagree with the way the poll is shaping up, but I just expected to see more votes for Norwood. I assume since Duckett got about 120 carries last year, Norwood might take a big portion of what was ducketts from last year, and possibly TD's as well.

Hangnail? The dude had a serious knee injury, broke his collarbone, and broke his leg. I wouldn't compare those injuries to a hangnail.

So why aren't some other players labeled as Mr. Glass or "Hangnail"? Like TO. He has broken his collarbone, and his leg, has had constant groin problems, and other injuries. He is never labeled as being fragile. Interesting.

Lovie Smith Named Benson the Starter before Camp. This is T Jones final Year, he pouted about the money Benson got and that he was named the starter. Jones has Drew Rosenhaus as an agent and he did not participate in camps, sat out Training camp and is ready to play now that it is over!

THe bears like Benson, #4 pick in the first round, he is the future stud, Jones will be a free agent and gone next year.

Go with Benson.

TO has been in the league much longer than Foster, and has been a starter for much longer. A player can't help when in the season they suffer a season ending injury. I don't find the label appropriate for one, and not the other.

Interesting post, this is the best case for Benson I've seen. I see more arguments for Jones, and I think it's because he's the sentimental fan favorite.edited to add: I still don't know what I think, but I appreciate your cogent argument for Benson.

Benson's attitude has reaslly put a damper on his camp -- I think he loses the starting job to TJ - whatever he's paid.

Deangelo Williams hasn't looked good - and I don't want to make a prediction on the assumption Foster goes down - history or not. The longer Foster stays healthy, the worse for Williams.

I agree that Barber seems to be a ploy to motivate JJ -- but he's my #2 choice.

I like Norwood - I think he gets a fair amount of play - and ALL season- behind Dunn and out of the four named, ends up putting up the most points.

More than just the sentimental favorite, he had an outstanding year last year with 1500 total yards and 9 tds compared to the stud in waiting who had 272 yards. Will that change? Possibly but whatever momentum Benson had in the offseason is gone based on his injury and his latest antics. I've got my money on the vet.

Wow, I hope you are joking! Foster is been in the league for four full years! That is a plenty large sample size to use to assess him. I'm not sure why you point out that TO has been a starter longer as somehow supporting your point. If anything, the fact that Foster kept getting hurt in limited playing time suggest that he is even more injury prone than a full time player playing in the same number of games. In any event, Foster has missed almost 50% of Carolina's games in his four year career. He was knocked out with season ending injuries in three of his four years. How in the world is that in any way similar TO's ratio of games lost due to injury? It isn't at all. I suggest that your rethink the way you analyze this. Foster, next to Lee Suggs and Najeh Davenport, is one of the most injury prone RBs in the NFL.
