I posted this in the basketball forum but I think this is the better forum. 

Anyone here play a lot of basketball outdoors? I'm trying to find the 'best' ball for outside play. I bought the Spalding NBA Indoor/Outdoor Replica Game Ball and I'm not a fan. It has a weird feel to its bounce. What I'm mainly looking for is a comfortable ball that feels like an authentic ball.... Which is why I bought the ball I did but it's just not a quality ball. Looking for suggestions, something that's composite leather or basically not rubber and something that has a nice feel when dribbling.  The one I bought has the feel of an over-inflated ball when dribbling but without the high bounce. It's not a good ball.

Spalding makes different levels of replica balls. Did you get the "Advanced" (I think it has a green trim on the packaging) or higher model? My group plays on the blacktop and it works well for us. The only issue is that it needs to be worn in a little first otherwise dust/dirt negates the tack on the surface and makes it hard to handle. A little scuff usually remedies that.

Got this exact ball and it wasn't cheap ($40). Hate it.

Does it feel heavy? I remember trying the Neverflat and it felt odd, couldn't get used to it and didn't use it in games.

Also, you linked to a 28.5" ball. Did you really buy a girls size?

Yeah, totally. As soon as I got home and gave it a dribble, I immediately didn't like it. Hopefully they will let me return it.
