Over 40 monkeys escape from research lab and are on the loose in South Carolina (1 Viewer)

I just read all of them were females.
Life finds a way.
Just gonna say this. Having them all females is actually worse case scenario. Life does find a way Andy. 40 possible wombs just hit the market.
Probably mating with the florida anacondas as we post. An army of snake-apes is a few months away.
The breeding habits of those damn pythons immediately came to mind. Actually breeding with them to create a super python monkey? Its a chilling possibility. We need these monkeys under control.

I, for one, welcome our new snape overlords.

First thing I pictured

And he's no joke.

I knew there was an island around here with nothing but monkeys on it. I didn't know there was a research facility at the other end of the county with monkeys. I'm not worried. If they come this way, the gators in my yard will get them first.

This thread has been a fun read...great comments along the way. Seriously though, this had to be someone deliberately letting them go, right? I could see someone's negligence leading to 1 or 2 somehow escaping, but 43 of them? This was planned and deliberate. Now, if it was planned and executed by the monkeys themselves, whatever meds we were testing on them should immediately be given to humans to raise the general intelligence of the population.

Syfy just got the inspiration for their next Sharknado-esque TV movie. It will be the event of the century!
sadly, I'll put these horrible B movies on in the background while I play on my phone because I don't have to pay attention to them and my kids will actually sit and watch because they can't get over how dumb they are.

My local news showed an outdoor shot of the area that included electric fences. Apparently they could read the warning signs and instead exited through the employee parking lot.

A worker there went in the cage and didn't close it good behind them. Luckily only 43 escaped. Supposedly there are about 6000 monkeys there. At least this is in a very rural area.

I swear this is the plot of Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Luckily the 'necks down there will gladly take of the issue.
This is what happens when you try to be more humane by allowing the monkeys a movie night.

6000 monkeys in that space? What the holy hell. What could go wrong? Why do we need 6000 monkeys in a lab. 6000? This has become way more serious then I thought.

You are looking for the movie Under Paris (Sous la Seine).

To save Paris from a bloodbath, a grieving scientist is forced to face her tragic past when a giant shark appears in the Seine.

It was on Netflix. Really. I watched it. I could feel my IQ going down.

I'm still waiting for Syfy to steal the idea from a Modern Family episode and make Croctopus.

Pretty sure there's a Netflix series about that kind of stuff. Sex Stories Gone Wrong or something like that.

DUDE!!!!

What were they using the monkeys to test? According to its website, Alpha Gensis breeds monkeys and provides "nonhuman primate products and bio-research services" across the globe. The company's clinical trials reportedly include research on progressive brain disorders.

Plot of Rise of the Planet of the Apes
At the story's heart is Caesar, a chimpanzee who gains human-like intelligence and emotions from an experimental drug. Raised like a child by the drug's creator, Will Rodman and a primatologist Caroline Aranha, Caesar ultimately finds himself taken from the humans he loves and imprisoned in an ape sanctuary in San Bruno. Seeking justice for his fellow inmates, Caesar gives the fellow apes the same drug that he inherited. He then assembles a simian army and escapes the sanctuary - putting man and ape on a collision course that could change the planet forever.

THIS IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Sounds like a Real Sex episode on HBO.

It's too bad, but I don't think those are around anymore, I think they purged most of their adult content a few years ago to clean up their image.

Yep. It sucks. There are a bunch of those I'd like to re-watch.

“They are very social monkeys and they travel in groups, so when the first couple go out the door the others tend to just follow right along,” Alpha Genesis CEO Greg Westergaard told CBS News.

Westergaard said his main goal is to have the monkeys returned safely with no other problems. “I think they are having an adventure,” he said.

The monkeys on Friday were exploring the outer fence of the Alpha Genesis compound and are cooing at the monkeys inside, police said in a statement.

The escaped monkeys are now communicating with monkeys still captured....

They were... definitely interesting at times. Some classic episodes but it was always a dice roll on the episodes content.

"Oh look, Real Sex is coming on. Please be a good episode, please be a good episode... Aww crap, it's Penis Puppeteer's...."

Any updates? Any monkeys killing humans? Any sighting of them clothing themselves and learning to drive? Those are thing that should cause concern..

I don't know how many of you have the Twitch app, but if you do you can see video of an orangutan driving a golf cart. Quite disturbing.

That's my concern. They learn to drive and they become nearly impossible to contain.

They could always hop a train. Driving is extra.
