Owner of both Beason and Berry (1 Viewer)

So, I own both Beason and Berry as of today (tomorrow is a different story). Luckily I didn't start either yesterday as I was concerned with previous injuries to them (went with Ruud and Y Bell instead). I have 1 IR spot for my team, so when I move a player to it, it frees up a roster spot. Are either worth moving there, or should I just cut my loses and drop both (may be able to move Crabtree to the IR for the time being instead). Will either return to their pre-injury glory?

I would not IR Beason. Probably not worth it with his injury risk the past couple years. He just hasn't been the same. Not knowing your league system tough to comment on Berry. DB's are usually a dime a dozen with new "studs" each year so not sure if hogging your IR spot for a DB is worth it.

Beason isnt worth putting on IR? Not sure what you mean by injury risk, Beason has started in every game of his NFL career. If you play long enough the odds are you are gonna blow a knee or something and get banged up. Unfortunately achilles are harder to come back from, but torn achilles arent what they use to be, its becoming a more common injury to come back from. Beason has a full year to recover, and at age 26 I still see him coming back next year to his recent form. As far as Berry, he will be stud again next year. Again he has a full year to recover and a main stay in KC's defense. Now on who to use on the IR spot, its depends on what kind of league are you in? Is it a dynasty, redraft, what? If you had enough spaces on your bench I would hold on to both assuming its a dynasty. Must start guys like these 2 are hard to come by.

It's a 10 team dynasty IDP league with 31 roster spots, 3 "practice squad" spots (rookies you aren't going to play), and 1 IR spot. I can move either to the IR spot and try to hold the 2nd for the time being.

I do have depth at both positions, though. Branch, Bell and Harper at DL and Mayo, Ruud, Tulloch, and D Ryans at LB.

In my salary cap contracts league I decided to drop Beason. I was paying him the 2nd highest LB salary in the league, and had him signed for the max length of 3 years. I took a cap penalty of 40% of his salary for next year, but I don't see him coming back as a top-3 LB to justify his worth. Different issue than what you're facing, but maybe it'll help. If I was in your situation, I'd probably IR Beason even though you're deep at LB just because LBs are worth so much more and he'll likely have more value than Berry in most scoring systems by mid-next season and beyond. My move was dictated more by salary.

I'm actually leaning the other way, and moving Berry to IR. I think an ACL injury is easier to come back from than a torn Achilles, but I'm no Doctor. Come to think of it there are two doctors in my league....but I think they would give me faulty information.....

Luckily, my dynasty IDP league allows for 3 IR spots.

Feels great having to use two of those spots after week 1 on two guys I was counting to carry me into the playoffs.

Elite LB's are rarer and more consistent year to year than DB's. I'd put Beason on the IR and let Berry walk if I were you.

One guy in my league has them and Colston. I had a good team yet finished last due to injuries last year and he may do that this year.
