He went 10, but I'd consider him as early as 5 with the Portis sicheeashon in play. Peyton's gonna go big again this year without Edge to take TDs.The Colts are gonna score. If the running game isn't doing it, Peyton will.Trying to gauge where he has been drafted in leagues with 6 pt passing td's. The DD with FBG's projections recommends a first round pick(and I think FBG's projection for him is a little low too.) Any of you with 6pt passing td's draft yet?
Just helped my bro in law in his 12 teamer and did the same exact thing. Peyton at #8. Holt. Dominic Rhodes. Mike Bell.Chumpson said:I took him at 8, then Holt and ended up with Droughns and Bush as my RBs. Just so you know.
you got Stephen Jackson in round 2??!?!?! how many teams in that league?I took him at 6, and ended up with Jackson and Droughns. Also got Kevin Jones, Rhodes and Gore. Pretty happy with that.
I agree. Manning is going to pick up the slack.LawFitz said:He went 10, but I'd consider him as early as 5 with the Portis sicheeashon in play. Ten. So I got Peyton at #6 and Jackson at #15. And if you will notice a post just above yours, gferrell got them at #5 and #16.you got Stephen Jackson in round 2??!?!?! how many teams in that league?I took him at 6, and ended up with Jackson and Droughns. Depends on your projections for Manning. If you think he'll throw for 4750/40 like I do, hes a top 4 pick in a 6pt TD league.Spiderman said:I know it's going against VBD, but I don't think Manning is a bad pick at 5 or 6 given all the question marks surrounding some of the RB's that could be chosen in that range. We know that Manning is durable, will put up 30+ TD's, and 4000+ yards, but, hopefully, you have a flex lineup option because it's going to be hard enough to get one solid RB, much less two if you take Manning in Round 1.
This is exactly where I am as well.I'm at #7 with the toss up of Jackson/Brown/Edge/Portis in there, I will probably take a back and hope Manning is still there in the second. I think he'll go top of the 2nd though on the turn.
Very similar to the mocks i keep running at the 7 hole in a 10 teamer. The problem is jackson, bush and holt all on a week 7 bye.in a 10 team league, i took him at pick 5SA/LT/LJ/TIKI all went as expected. with portis hurting, i couldn't justify taking him at 5 ... none of the other RBs really got me as excited as Peyton does with the 6 pt TDs. i think last years stats are his floor for this year mainly because edge isn't around to rack up yardage & tds.i think it worked out great as i consistently got good value throughout the rest of the draft.1. (5) P. Manning QB 2. (16) S. Jackson RB 3. (25) T. Holt WR 4. (36) D. Driver WR 5. (45) W. Parker RB 6. (56) R. Bush RB 7. (65) K. Jones RB 8. (76) L. Smith TE 9. (85) C. Taylor RB 10. (96) E. Kennison WR 11. (105) T. Glenn WR 12. (116) Ma. Jones WR 13. (125) J. Feely K 14. (136) Miami DEF 15. (145) P. Rivers QB
That's definitely true....Even if Manning gets 4100 and 33 TD, that's still probably going to be better than nearly every RB. I think it's tough to take Manning early on in a draft because unless you are in a flex league where you can start 1 RB/4 WR, it makes it tough to field 2 good RB's, but the other part of me says that you could easily fall for the hype of a Ronnie Brown or Steven Jackson, and watch them play like Kevin Jones last season while Manning is a lock to be a top fantasy player.Depends on your projections for Manning. i've been thinking of SJAX at 1.04 in a non-ppr 4pt-qb td'she is a steal with the 15-16 picksTen. So I got Peyton at #6 and Jackson at #15. That sure nails my thinking for the upcoming weekend. Was all set to take Portis at #4--flex lineup, no ppr--but with 6 pt/all td's and bonuses for long ones Manning is looking real good there. My only "problem" is that he just might get drafted before me leaving one of the big three!!I think it's tough to take Manning early on in a draft because unless you are in a flex league where you can start 1 RB/4 WR, it makes it tough to field 2 good RB's, but the other part of me says that you could easily fall for the hype of a Ronnie Brown or Steven Jackson, and watch them play like Kevin Jones last season while Manning is a lock to be a top fantasy player.
I agree. I actually had the #2 pick but traded down to get him at #4. 12 team redraft, 6pt per passing TD. (our scoring is not a full yardage, either, so TD's count a bit more than in most)There was another thread on this yesterday, with some good insights from Chaka and kyinaz.Depends on your projections for Manning.
