Packer-Bear week used to be fun around here (1 Viewer)

Remember that time Aaron Rodgers threw 6 touchdown passes in the first half against the Bears on a cold Sunday night at Lambeau?  That was cool.

Remember that time BJ Raji intercepted Caleb Heinie and scored at Soldier Field in the NFC Championship game?  That was pretty cool.
Yeah, that was the last year the Bears won a playoff game and the only year Rodgers has won a Super Bowl.  Bears had two chances to stop him and blew it.   Rodgers wasn't even that good in those two games. The Bears were just awful on offense, as usual.

I'm feeling good about this today. Nagy pulled his head out of his ### last week and put together a game plan Mitch was good at. He does that again, and with a little help from the D (hopefully Hicks is feeling pretty good) I think we can make a game of this.

Bears 27 - Pack 21!!!!

Let's go Bears!!!!

Eta: and I haven't even started drinking yet today!

Thoughts from any homers would you shy away from rolling out ARob/Montgomery together this week? Hopefully Bears keep some momentum and haven't seen anything about Monty getting dinged late in last game?

Montgomery is very hit or miss. I'd never sit Robinson.

From what I understand Monty is full go and they are going to need him to win this, but I'm too bears delusional right now to offer rational advice.

As a starting QB, Aaron Rodgers is 20-5 against the Bears (one loss coming in 2013, when he left the game after the first series) with a passer rating of 103.5 (best in league history against the Bears). Rodgers is tied with Brett Favre for the most 100-plus passer-rating games against the Bears (11.)  Rodgers registered a passer rating of 132.2 in the first meeting with the Bears this season, to give him seven games with a passer rating of over 125 against the Bears, 4 more than any other QB in NFL history.

I think that was the only game Cutler won as a starter vs GB- and he was knocked out also.

The bears should feel extremely confident heading into this game. They're a team trending upward and looking hotter than anyone in the league right now. The Packers' offensive line injuries are going to prove devastating. Both teams have a lot on the line, but the bears want it more. They should win convincingly en route to their playoff berth and spot in the Super Bowl.

Death. Taxes. Pack by double digits

I appreciate your enthusiasm and passion IGH. It just isn't there for the Bears this year.

Now it's just

Maybe this will spark something.....

GO PACK!!!!

Pack by 64 on Sunday

Justin Fields will be 20th different starting QB that CHI has used against Packers since 1992. GB has used 3 different starters vs. Bears during that span: Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, Brett Hundley. (Demovsky on twitter)

Pack by 56 on Sunday.

You must be assuming the Pack pull their starters in the mid-3rd quarter, correct?

I played Bears *5, probably wasted money.

My favorite  was the revenge game in 1980.  GB won the first meeting on the blocked FG that Chester Marcos ran for a TD in OT..  the second game, Chicago won 61-7.   I’ll settle for 48-7 Sunday.

In 1932, the Packers lead the all-time series against the Bears by one game - 11-10-4.  The Bears took the lead in 1933 and held it for 85 years.  In 1992, shortly after Brett Favre joined the Packers, the Bears lead the series 81-57-6, a massive 24 game advantage. Prior to Favre's first start, the Bears had won 14 of the previous 17 games.  The Favre/Rodgers dominance in this game has been so astonishingly one-sided, it only took 25 years for the Packers to make up the 24 game deficit. Even with the Bears having a Superbowl team during that stretch, the Packers won 75% of the games to close the gap.  Despite the one-time deficit of 81 wins to 57, the Packers somehow managed to get to 100 wins in the series first, in 2019.  This run is widely recognized as the greatest comeback in the history of worldwide sports.

:lmao:

Seems like a fair, balanced and unbiased statement of fact.

Based on this weeks projections on various sites, I'm presuming most experts are apparently blissfully unaware of how much Rogers has torched the Chicago over the years. 55 TDs in 26 games with a boatload of 3, 4 and 6 TD games. Doesn't have too many 300 yard game - 4, and none since 2014 - but that's bc about a third of the wins they boat-raced the Bears early. 8 passing TDs in last year's series and I'm expecting Rodgers to Adams to be cooking Sunday.

In 1969, Gayle Sayers lead the NFL in rushing and **** Butkis was DPOY. Despite this, the Bears finished 1-13, with their only win coming against the Steelers, who were also 1-13. The Steelers won the coin toss to get the first pick in the 1970 NFL Draft and took Terry Bradshaw who won 4 Superbowls and is in the Hall of Fame. The Bears traded their first round pick to the Packers and are still trying to replace Sid Luckman. Maybe Justin Fields is the guy.

Hard to admit but it’s honestly just not that much fun anymore. I’m old, it’s a cold Sunday night game, so I wimped out and gave my tickets to a colleague yesterday. Even with Rodgers stoking the flames, there just isn’t much there anymore given the Bears run of ineptitude.  This is normally the highlight of the year for me at Lambeau, but I’ll be on the couch Sunday night, at most might walk over to my neighbors.

I think there might be a conflict of interest and they should start Love because Rodgers owns the Bears. Even with Love starting I would pick the Packers to easily win the game by double digits.

Love is out this week - on the Covid list. It’s quite likely to be Rodgers’ last ever start against the Bears as a Packer, so I expect he’ll want to go out with a bang. He’s also in range of Favre for a couple team records. I think he’ll be going all out regardless of the score.

You do know what I was referring to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1dFr4V_RIA&ab_channel=NFL

I was joking about Love and hope you are right about Rodgers because I am starting him in the league I am fighting to get into the playoffs.  He just has to pass to any WR not named Adams who I am going up against.

Lot of talk from Chicago this week. Packers have been pretty quiet.

Of course, when you own them for the last 10-15 years you don't have to do much talking.
Rodgers did like to chirp quite a bit. Can’t blame him. He owned the bears, especially in Chicago.

it been 30 years since the Packers came into this game with so many questions. They have WR injuries, so it‘ll be hard to judge Love.
