Listening now. 3 year deal. Thompson impressed with McCarthy's ability to develop QBs. Leadership ability and comfort level stood out in interview. Mike is tough, no nonsense, and all about football.
As a former Saints fan who was constantly frustrated with McCarthy's playcalling, I can't say this is a good hire for Green Bay. BUT, you never know what a guy can do in a new environment. Hope it works out for the Packers fans.

I know nothing about this guy, except from what I have read the last couple days, and nothing really stands out. I know if the vikes had hired this guy I would not be impressed what so ever.

Has any potential interviewee ever said "as a coach, I like a team full of nonsense...I think rules are kind of overrated"...of course not. Every potential hire comes in and says that same tired schtick.Gary Barnett and Mike Tice notwithstanding.
