Packers don't expect Grant to play vs Denver (1 Viewer)

Just an FYI if you were planning on releasing Starks and picking up Grant after last weeks game vs Chicago.

Per Rotoworld:

Packers coach Mike McCarthy told reporters Wednesday that he does not expect Ryan Grant (bruised kidney) to play in Week 4.

McCarthy said he'll give Grant a "chance" to practice Friday, but for now both the coaching and medical staffs believe he'll be "pressed" to face Denver. McCarthy also noted that there is an NFL protocol for injuries like Grant's, suggesting he'll have to pass medical tests just to practice, let alone play. James Starks may be staring at a breakout game against the Broncos.

bump Rogers, it be pass pass and more passing
Why? Do you think Denver's going to have a big lead on GB?
To think that Rodgers won't have a big day because they're going to blow out the Broncs is just faulty logic. They still have to get the points from somewhere to qualify as a blowout. Sure Starks may see a lot of carries in the second half but they'll still have to convert on third downs and I've seen nothing from the Packers to indicate they wont take shots late even with a nice lead. Then you throw in how shaky GBs secondary has been so far and it's not going to be a situation that I'm going to shy away from.Bump Finley.

thinking expectations for Starks need to be tempered, it is Rodgers "pass first" offense, folks. This is not a case of Foster/Tate, Bradshaw/Jacobs, etc. The lead dog in GB is not needed to be a bellcow. Factor in Kuhn with the GL love, and Green needing to get his feet wet (important if Grant is more hurt than we know) ... and I see a decent, not great, outing come tomorrow.

Howzabout 70 rush, 25 rec ... outside chance at a TD.
