Pacquiao vs Bradley ...gonna be a good one! (1 Viewer)

And this happens a week after the Filipino chick gets defeated on American Idol by a mediocre competitor? Manila is going to riot.

Are you kidding me? Pacman killed Bradley.
People in this thread got caught in the Pacquiao echo chamber and thought he was doing better than he was. You can't sit around and do nothing for 2 mins then try to win it in the last minute each round.
Are you kidding?PAC laned more punches at a higher percentage and had more meaningful blows. There is no way he lost this fight legitimately, it was a 100% fix job.
What does boxing gain from fixing this fight?
Judges can be bought, and it's happened in boxing many times before.Tons of money is bet.

Agreed. My computer is f'd and wont start unless im in safe mode, so I had no audio tonight (and didnt see any punch stats because I was posting in here between rounds). Not only was it refreshing, but it made me pay more attention to the fight as well. Plus compubox sucks anyways. That, combined with liking both fighters, I think forced me to watch the fight pretty objectively.I thought Pacman did enough to win the fight and should have, but I thought it was hilarious to see people in here giving him the first couple rounds, and even the next couple he only (may have) won based on the last 45-60 seconds. I dont think Bradley did enough to deserve winning a decision against a champ like this, but round by round it was really a 7-5 fight and pretty close. As far as the decision goes, I did think Bradley was better in the championship rounds so that does give a little more credence to his win.

:goodposting:It's amazing how objective you can be when you aren't being fed the script by the announcers who were in the tank for Pac.

Pacquiao didn't close strong and got clipped for it. He did look on autopilot. I guess this is boxing's way of saying "you need to look like you're trying, even if you're dominating the guy."

.I really don't think this makes the public want to see PAc Man vs Mayweather any less. Everyone witnessed MAnny's speed and power once again tonight.

However, it does Mayweather yet another reason to duck him.

Nah, I honestly don't like Pacquiao and was rooting for him to go down. It shouldn't be like this, though.

Was compubox in the tank? Ridiculous. I watched the fight muted like I watch most sports. I thought Bradley won three boring rounds. Every round with good action was dominated by Manny.

Need to increase the # of judges per contest. Perhaps five judges who do all the major fights. If you have a string of questionable decisions you lose your spot.

Seriously? I watched the fight with the biggest Floyd fanboy in the world, and even he gave 10 rounds to Manny. I agree that the announcers can sway one's opinion, but we had the sound turned really low. It wasn't even close. To pretend it was is just stupid.

This will definitely stop the nonsense coming out of Arum's camp to have the purse split evenly between JuiceMan and Mayweather.

It'll also set up a nice battle of undefeated's with Mayweather and Bradley...although, that will be just an awful fight.

If anything the venom from this decision would make it less likely for Manny to take less then 50/50. Try bringing that up in negotiations.

I think this is meaningless as far as PBF vs Pacman...The money will still be there regardless, and I bet this fight did pretty good tonight (and certainly is/will get plenty of talk surrounding it).Im honestly thinking about a PBF-Pacman trilogy where both retire afterwards. Wishful thinking, but I dont care :excited:

This fight didn't help boxing win over any fans. For the 5% that love the decision there's the 95% that are going to sour even more on boxing than they already have.

I think compubox is pretty bad in all honesty, but looking at total numbers doesnt tell the round by round story either.I do think Manny dominated a few rounds, I dont think Bradley dominated any. That said, about half of the rounds this fight I thought were pretty damn close.

You couldn't be more wrong. I've said for a while that Pac VS Mayweather was the ONLY fight I would consider paying money for (boxing anyways). After Manny's loss tonight, I withdraw that statement. There is now literally NO boxing fight I would pay a dime to see. Pac is now just another guy...the clash of the titans is now Mayweather vs some good fighter.Boxing is officially dead to me after tonight. It's been on life-support since the end of the days of Tyson, Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, etc. I don't have even the slightest interest in any fight they can now come up with. It might as well be Jai-alai.

On principle I agree with you, but since Manny so clearly dominated this fight I think seeing Floyd vs. Manny would be worth it. I don't give two craps what the judges would think, I'd like to see it.

For sure. PBF would pick apart Bradley, who is sort of a poor man's PBF.

I know it won't happen but I feel this should be the last boxing match we'll ever book @LVSuperBook. #ridiculous

This is just ridiculous. What has boxing become?
:lmao: There's been fixed decisions, controversial decisions, and just flat out terrible decisions in every decade of boxing's existence. If there's no KO, there's always the risk.
Give me an example of a fight at this level that was this wrong.

Boxing has always had a fix, but this is a whole new level.
Fixes:Ever heard of Jess Willard?

Primo Carnera?

Billy Fox?

Look them up and back to me.

Bad decisions:

Leonard vs. Hearns II

Whitaker vs. Jose Luis Ramirez

Michael Spinks vs. Larry Holmes

Jimmy Ellis vs. Floyd Patterson

Lennox Lewis vs. Evander Holyfield I

Camacho vs. Duran

De La Hoya vs. Sturm

That's just a short list. It goes on and on and on. Since the beginning of the sport.

I'm not saying this wasn't a terrible decision. I didn't see it, but I'll take everyone's word for it. I'm only pointing out that it's not a historical abberation. There have always been horrible decisions in boxing.

I'm happy to know you can Google, but none of these matches the fight tonight. Not by a long shot.

I will never watch another round of boxing. Never again.
I said that about 15 years ago.
I had pretty much quit watching boxing (or considering it a legit sport) about 15 years ago also... but I will seriously never watch another round. Not a single one.
:bye: Just focus on the Stillers, GB
Nah, Im gonna make fun of boxing at every turn now. If they can piss on it, so can I.One of the fondest memories of my life was going to the '84 Olympics boxing venue with my father (who boxed seriously in the Army/Golden Gloves). I was a big fan until they just started crapping all over the sport.
