Palmer out week 2. Start Fitz or Floyd? (1 Viewer)

is this stanton any good? i have floyd in both leagues... although not much at backup

I think this hurts Floyd more than Fitz and likely hurts both in general. I don't know much about Stanton's arm but Palmer has become good at hitting Floyd deep. Fitz can act like more of a safety valve in the slot.

####. Debating sitting Floyd. Although I am a big believer in Arians having his qb prepared.

Have both Floyd and Fitz and I think I may just roll with them. Giants got lit up last week.

My other options would be Marshall (Q at 830), Cruz, or Hunter.

May sit Floyd for Cruz.

stanton hasn't thrown a pass in an nfl game since 2010.

i think this bumps up ellington but hurts fitz and floyd.

sitting fitz for watkins in ppr.

The only positives are Stanton's been in this offense for 3 years now (Indyx1,AZx2) & practiced with the 1's all week (Palmer sat)

Negatives: He's Drew Stanton, hasn't started in nearly 4 years, only once in 4 starts has he surpassed 175 yards (3 TD 5 INT)

NFL network just said the coach wanted Stanton as his starter before they landed Palmer. I'm not confident in the AZ running game. My gut is telling to to start Fitz or Floyd

I swapped in Benjamin for Floyd.

i decided to do the exact same in one league.. although gore at the flex in this PPR league had me think about it.

in my other league my only other viable choice was keenan allen and I think i'm just gonna stick with floyd

Stanton's career stats: 55.6%, 5 TD, 9 INT. 2 lost fumbles.
Very uninspiring stats, and he hasn't thrown a pass in a regular season game since 2010. Maybe the Cards come out out and throw a lot of short passes to the WRs (including Fitz) to build up Stanton's confidence early(?) We got nowhere to go but up from 1-22yds, right?

Benched Floyd for Hawkins. Feel with Cameron out, Hawkins gets 10+ targets. It's hard to see Floyd or the passing game in total doing very well with Stanton.

I could go with DJax over Floyd in another league but not sure there...

How is this a bump for Ellington? Seems like the Giants D can just focus on stopping him and dare Stanton to beat them...

Agree with this.

If I owned Ellington and I had a decent option as backup, I'd go for it.

As a Floyd owner with boom/bust backing up (asiata and P. Thomas) I'm going to go with Floyd and hope he gets like 5/75 and be happy with that

in ppr he will catch a lot of short passes.

stanton has a very weak arm.
Ok - I have Ellington in a standard though… so that's likely the difference. Hadn't thought about the short passes from Stanton.

Honestly, I hope Ellington doesn't break in this game.

Expect a ton of short passes with Stanton today. He played with and connected with John Brown in the preseason. He may see more targets/PT than usual. Still wouldn't start.

I thought Stanton had a decent arm from what I read. In any case, I'm keeping Floyd in over Benjamin in one league and over Cooks in another. Week 2 too early to start screwing with my lineups.
