Panthers - Eagles Thread (1 Viewer)

Birds look good tonight, but I see them struggling vs tough AFC-type teams this year.. just too small on D.Fortunately for them, they are in the NFC, so they should make the playoffs..
The last I heard they were supposed to miss both Ian Scott and Montae Reagor tonight. Scott especially was signed to help against the run. It's nice to see Bunkley with 2 tackles in the stats, and Patterson with a tackle, a sack and an assist.

I tone it back it back a bit. How many td's did Westy score from inside the 1 or 2 anyways last year probably none.

I might take Parker. This really worries me.
Wow... everybody jumping ship on Westbrook because of a couple preseason goalline touches for Hunt? Now I've heard everything.

I believe I heard somewhere recently that Westbrook had only 1 rushing TD of under 5 yards last year. Is that right?

Just my 2 cents worth.....

McNabb looked very sharp...threw some perfect balls.

TE Matt Schobel had a long 50 + yarder on a beautiful sideline strike from McNabb.

WR Curtis had at least 2 for 40 yards and looks to have great hands and McNabb's eye, I think he will produce in this offense even though he is lining up as a wideout for the first time.

WR Reggie Brown played, McNabb targeted him but a couple were broken up...McNabb looked for him too....I wouldn't worry about him. Sorry no details/stats from me.

Hunt grabbing two goal line carries bothers me....I'm a big Westbrook fan. Reid tends to be conservative during pre-season but somehow I think this may happen during the regular season unless Hunt proves unreliable. We'll have to watch this....

Eagles offense seemed to go back to the predominantly passing offense (70/30 pass to run ratio) with McNabb in....not like the end of the season last year where they ran the ball alot more with Garcia in.

Eagles defense looked energetic and effective. Delhomme was not impressive at all and the Carolina Line did not look good. Eagles pass rush was strong and the DBs are playing well. Sheppard played and returned an INT for a TD. Dawkins did not play but is expected to play against the Steelers (hopefully).

If Hunt can score on the goal line and not drop the ball, its almost guaranteed he will be the goal line back. Reid has been trying for years to get a dependable goal line back with not much luck. It's all hypothetical right now but this is why Hunt was drafted in the first place. It doesn't take a year studying the play book to be a goal line back. If Hunt has it in him the job is his starting right now.

Watching the game and listening to Ike Reese the announcer (former Eagles special teamer and linebacker) is a real treat. It is his second game announcing and the guy is full of insights on what is happening on the field....who missed a coverage... etc. His gives you alot of technical insight from a players perspective... He is well spoken and with a little polish should be a national announcer in the future. This guy is good....

I agree unfortunately since I have the 7th pick in my re-draft league and I am hoping Westbrook falls to me. Being in a league around Philly I never get a really good Eagle since I won't overpay for one. I was hoping this would be the year.

I don't see this adversly affecting Westbrooks numbers. I expect similar stats to last year from Westbrook.

Westy had 2 rushing tds from the 1 last season and 5 total rushing from within the 10 (8, 5, 6, 1, 1) I believe he added 2 rec tds from within the 10 also.edited to add I am really not worried about Westy's production in PPR leagues at this point. Actually I was happy to see how well McNabb performed, that to me will help his overall numbers.

Agreed again...but his numbers could be so much better if he didn't lose the the majority of goal line carries (I don't know if this is true in fact or just my impression). I would be interested to know how TDs scored from within the 5 outside of Westbrooks's TDs listed so... Mc Nabb will get some and they pass for a few so I am more interested on the ones scored by the other RBs. Just cuious and I'm not great with retirieving these type of stats. At this point if Westbrook is there at 7 I'm taking him over Henry or Parker (it is a non-PPR league).

Foster up the middle for a small gain, 3 yards.
Consistent as ever, good to see him pick up where he left off.
Yep, 6.0 YPC  A longer run than Dwilly, AND about the same YPR as DWilly. Started ahead of DWilly, and will continue to do so.

There probably would have been a few more short yardage touchdown runs if they had someone dependable to use and not Correll McFumble. If you get to choose between Henry, Parker or Westbrook at 7 take any one of them and be happy. FYI I would take Henry (with visions of TD dancing in my head.)
