Please stop following me around. Did you hear him on the radio today? It is what it is said:This is not true...Later Rick Goselin called in and said that Bill was trying to squeeze more money out of Jerry. Bill has been at Valley Ranch, preparing for the Senior Bowl, but he was some how trying to get more money. He (Rick) said that at some point this will come out and Bill is going to blame Jerry Jones.
I have a hard time seeing Norv as the guy. Wasnt he "the guy" already in Washington and Oakland? how'd that work out for him?FYI: I hear Bob Stoops, contrary to some reports, is not in the picture. Also, a guy like Norv Turner or Wade Phillips could be the guy.
1.It is what it is said:Don't flatter yourself ("following you")...I am simply setting the record straight as to what the truth here really is. Don't post this crap and I won't feel the need to respond to it. IIRC you were one of the first people to dimiss my post several weeks back, when I posted that Parcells was retiring, with the same source I used to break the Owens signing and contract details with last year. And we now know how both of those turned out. Please stop following me around. As for this Gosselin guy, I don't live in Dallas, nor do I listen to, read, or know anything about him. On a quick google search, I see the faithfull down there like yourself follow him as if his word is gospel...which is not surprising. I also saw that Gosselin is the same guy who stated about Tony Romo "Don't expect Romo to save the Cowboy's season". Good info there...

Did Parcells not negotiate a contract with one team while taking one to the Superbowl?Did Parcells not contact the Giants organization about a GM position while still employeed by the Dallas Cowboys? One point here, you will never see a respected NFL guy like Jimmy Johnson, undermine a respected coach like Bill Parcells, who was currently under contract with the Dallas Cowboys...as Parcells was at the time of Johnson's statement. Would you honestly expect Johnson to say he was interested at that time?
To be fair, so was the majority of media folks and knowledgable fans. You make one prediction and now you're Nostradamus? Get over yourself. It is what it is said:Your beat reporter's claim was that Romo would not save their season, aka get them to the playoffs. He was wrong.

2. Ohhhh I see your problem, but I wasn't dimissing your post that was actually for BP leaving I could actually care less about him being here. You obviously didn't read my following posts. Maybe you have selecitive reading are something.
3. By the fact you don't know who he is says it all.
4. Gosseling was the first to say that Romo would be the starting QB before the season was over and he said this during the pre-season. So, Did Romo save te Cowboy season? No!
5. Pat Summerall who was a friend of Bill's said that Bill wouldn't be back, he said this on December 29, 2005 on one of his local talk shows well before your posting. So keep posting your links.

Parcells had this Dallas Cowboy job well before CG was fired.
If you don't think hidden negotiation occur in sports you need to think again.
As for who your beat reporter is, personally I'll stick with my NFL player and brass connections...you stick with your beat reporter who has an adjenda. I do most of my NFL reading either here or at NFL.com. I am sure there are some good beat reporters out there, I just don't read or know them. As for this Gosselin guy, he lost any credibility with me in lying about why Parcells retired. That is shoddy journalism.
Your beat reporter's claim was that Romo would not save their season, aka get them to the playoffs. He was wrong.
Did Pat Summerall give you the Terrell Owens signing and contract details two full days before ESPN broke the story? Okay then...I have a proven and respectable source here, no need for jealousy and hating me for it.
This was nothing about a hidden negotiation, don't try and change the subject.
Parcells nor any other well respected NFL coach that I can think of has ever gone public about a coaching job when another coach was under contract. This was your claim, Johnson publicly said he wasn't interested on some Dallas radio show (while Parcells was still under contract), thus there is no way he would be interested. That is foolish of you...

I'm taking no sides in your debate, however this point should be clarified.Would the Cowboys have gotten to the playoffs with Bledsoe continuing as the starting QB? Unlikely. Did the Cowboys advance farther in the playoffs with Romo than they would have with Bledsoe? Obviously not. It depends upon how you define "saved the season", but I think for a team that had not been to the playoffs since 2003, simply getting there was a major goal this season, and IMHO there's no denying that Romo was a key person in bringing that about.BigTex said:Anyone actually think that Romo saved the season:![]()
Completely agree here. Romo is definitely the reason the Cowboys made the playoffs. With Bledsoe, they would've gone 5-11 again. Unfortunately, he wasn't enough to overcome the lack of a pass rush, the inability to cover deep, mediocre LB's, an overrated WR past his prime with stone hands, and a coach unwilling to change. As a Cowboys fan, I'm hoping Romo becomes another Tom Brady.I'm taking no sides in your debate, however this point should be clarified.Would the Cowboys have gotten to the playoffs with Bledsoe continuing as the starting QB? Try Wade Phillips.Get me Bill Cowher. What is the report based upon?Edit- wow, big news. Who do the Cowboys hire now?

Not with you on this Tex.We would not have made the playoffs without Romo.I am optimistic with a full TC as the #1 guy and having the whole off-season to prepare, that we should be in decent shape with young Tony.Jeff Pasquino said:Try Wade Phillips.Get me Bill Cowher. What is the report based upon?Edit- wow, big news. I was looking for this thread.Hey redman, in no way did Romo save our season. The only thing he saved us from was total embarrassment. Both JJ and BP thought this team was going to take them to the superbowl, Romo came short of doing so.This is not Romo vs. The statue of inability, that's a totally differenty story. We all wanted to see what Romo could do, now we have some idea and can move on.
