Patrick Crayton really needs to pipe down (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
Has there ever been a guy who talks so much, yet produces so little?

If he moved to Argentina and stayed there forever, would football fans even notice?

After the Patriots worked Dallas in the regular season, Crayton proclaimed that the

Cowboys would beat New England in the Super Bowl "If THEY happen to get there." :loco:

Leading up to the playoff game last Sunday, Crayton yapped about N.Y. Brandon Jacobs in particular.

Then on Monday, the day after Dallas got bounced from the playoffs, he sat at his locker telling reporters

Dallas is "used to winning Super Bowls around here," and losing this game to New York was unacceptable.

Memo to Patrick: YOU are one of the main reasons your team lost. Try catching the ball every now and then.

Gotta love Jacobs:

"The Cowboys are a great football team and they might have had a chance to win if Patrick Crayton hadn't dropped two key passes," Jacobs said. "Yes, there was a lot of talk. But you know what? We won the game and we're going to Green Bay ... and they're chillin'."
And Strahan chimed in with:
"There was a lot of stuff said before the game, especially Crayton, the one guy I didn't even know his name before the game," Michael Strahan said. "So if anybody should talk, it's not him. "We hope T.O. had his popcorn ready," Strahan added. "Maybe he and Crayton can sit in their home theater and watch."
:wall: Crayton's main goal for the '08 season should be to play better and shut his mouth.

I agree with you on his past comments, but not his most recent. He basically said the Cowboys are a team that should be playing for Superbowls, and they haven't done jack in over a decade.

:loco:

PS - Brandon Jacobs is a major league doosh and bad mouths the Cowboys all the time. Both Crayton and Jacobs need to ####. They will both be forgotten 10 years from now.

Wish I could find a video clip of it. Watching it, it seemed like he was disgusted with everyone else. Hard to explain. My point is, he should be the first one in line to accept blame for the loss.

From the link I pasted above:
If the Giants could have scripted this one, Patrick Crayton would have had a lot to do with the Cowboys screwing up the No. 1 seed.As it turned out, he did.

Crayton, who started the war of words during the week, calling out RB Brandon Jacobs in particular, had two huge drops and muffed a punt in the Cowboys' four-point loss, a fact, said Jacobs, made the Giants' victory "that much sweeter."

I agree 100%. The only thing out of his mouth should have been "I blew it,it's my fault" anything else looks bush league. As much as he talked before the game...his performance in the game should have prevented him from making any post game comments.

Nothing good ever comes out of trash talking before a game. The only time a player may need extra motivation is when they practice. Bulletin board quotes can provide that little extra push to study and practice just a bit harder during the week.

And his comments AFTER the game are just ridiculous.

Yes he should.

I'm not a fan of Crayton the player or his big yapper. Just S.T.F.U. already.

I love it when a nobody spouts off and then gets a chance to put up and chokes miserably. Good job Crayton!!

Here's a personal tidbit as long as we're on the subject of Patrick Crayton. A few years ago my youngest son,who lives in Tampa, was at a local store and Ronde Barber was giving out signed 8x10's. My son happened to go by him when no one was around so he approached Ronde and asked if he would sign one for his dad(me). But,my son said,my dad is a big Giants fan,Ronde said no problem, asked what my name was and wrote,"To Mike,Go BUCS!" I loved it,I have it framed on a wall in my den. Fast forward to this past November. My OLDEST son is in Dallas for a job with Brighhouse Networks, they're doing a promo with some of the Cowboys,my son is backstage with Crayton,he has a stack of 8x10's he's going to sign for people who come into the exhibit,so my son asks if he'll sign one for me and tells him I'm a big Giants fan. Crayton says no problem and signs,"To Mike,Giants SUCK!". My immediate thought was look how different these two men thought when given the same opportunity to do the same thing. Barber in a funny, almost classy way and Crayton about as crass as one could get without profanity. I haven't framed the Crayton pic, after Sunday's result I'm thinking of mailing it back to him. Just thought I'd pass the story along.

Patrick Crayton= Freddie Mitchell at this point. At least he didnt yell at his hands for missing those balls.
He should have though - at least he might have made ESPN highlights or something.
Are you kidding, he was in almost every highlight......he is a huge reason why the Cowboys lost. He dropped a reception that would have been a sure first down and possibly a game changing touchdown. Then he stops running on a sure game winning touchdown. He was ALL over sportscenter.....for all the wrong reasons.

Wow, what a complete #####. I have really lost a lot of respect for Crayton this season. Going into the season I was a big fan of his. Not anymore.

:goodposting: I feel the same way. He suddenly got mouthy, and then his on field mistakes became more prevalent. Not a good combo.

This makes no sense to me. Why should the Cowboys be playing for Superbowls any more than any other team?

Never was or will be a fan. I have constantly tried to temper folks expectations about this guy. The poor attitude is a new revelation this year. What isn't new is a very average overall skill set. No speed, average route runner, and good hands. This equals a decent WR3 who is OK in the slot....nothing more. Slot WR need to also posses the ability to know when to shut up. The next set of commericals from Bud Light need to show Crayton's press clippings and interviews.....follwed by the trademark "dood????" comment.
