Ministry of Pain

So tired of dealing with the Covid, let's focus on a game they are playing and perhaps we can Exploit before the Sunday games

-Hunter Henry-TE and Stephenson at RB, also have to highlight Bourne who has had some real production in PPR a few times this year.

-Taylor gonna get 120 yds and 2 Tds this week? I'm taking the Under but who wouldn't this weekend? Still a must start IMHO.

 Go!

Gentle reminder, we have an 8:15 start time here, Saturday for anyone who might have fallen asleep or thought all of the games were moved to Mon/Tue

I like the Colts to win a close game in yet another playoff like night game 23-20. Pats are good but possibly a tiny bit overvalued and the Colts are sneakily really good.

Pats are always well prepared. Colts are better than their record imop. IF Wentz can avoid multiple brain farts I like.....

Colts- 27

Pats- 23

I just caught this topic header and thought "there was a game on tonight?".

If NEP/BB sells out to stop the run, can they still force enough pressure to get Wentz to make a mistake or two? I’m not sure. It’s been written about elsewhere but their zone d relies on the pressure.

On the flip, if Indy can bottle up Stevenson, can McDaniels/ Mac take advantage?

I don’t think either fan base is probably feeling super confident. I think the Colts will be a worthy opponent. This game is a coin flip.

Looks like Damien Harris is OUT

Stevenson will be getting a pretty large workload but the script will be much different.

-Mac Jones will have to throw for the Pats to win this one but you could see some redzone opps for Stevenson

Good looking rookie who has looked beastly at times running over and thru people when need be.

In 19 games at Oklahoma this guy saw less than 200 carries and racked up almost 1,200 on the ground and fyi, he's like 235 lbs, he's the new Blount for Coach BB.

20/100 vs Cleveland

51/260 on the ground 4 games leading up to Buffalo where he went 24/78, this kid can handle a load when given the opp.

Cynthia Freeland has Taylor at 93 rushing, 24 rec and a TD.  I think we all would take that if you own him.

Im not that optimistic.  21-67-0 and 2-14-0

I am getting a NE spreads them and shreds them vibe. Mac 30 of 40 with 300/2. People I follow are hinting that BB wants to stomp the Colts and showcase that they can pass just as well as they can run. We shall see, but I am hearing a lot more passing than people are expecting. Essentially, use the pass to set up the run.

Indy with a good pass defense.  Mac wil need to be up for the challenge - pats passing has gotten fat on beating bad teams.

still get the feeling Indy may win by 10 plus and ne fails to break 20

Is BB still sore about SB LII? I don’t think Reitz is intimidated or fears Belichick.

Russell, Lamar, and that feared combo of White/Johnson from the Jets had 4 TD games vs the Colts. Tannehill threw 3 TDs twice. More recently, the Colt D had success vs Allen and Trubisky with 3 INTs & 1 FR and time of possession, and Brady didn't have to do much as the Colts had 5 TOs.

The Colt defense has lived off turnovers, leading the league in fumble recoveries and near the top in INTs. I agree that a pass first approach will succeed and make the running game that much better. If Mac protects the ball, doesn't get greedy,  NE will score points and the NFL can start putting his name on the trophy for OROY.

Looking at tds is too simple and doesn’t tell the whole story.  According to FFT, the colts are the 2nd toughest matchup for qb allowing 2nd least fantasy points.  Follows they are second toughest on wr.  First in both categories is patriots.

I just wonder if national stage, playoff atmosphere road game is too much for mac

Agreed. But the Colts faced the Texans twice, Jax once, and Miami with Brisett. And the defense has benefitted from a good run game, and lots of turnovers. The Colt defense is good, not great, and I don't think Mac wilts on the national stage, he's been there before. Mac gets rid of the ball quickly on most plays.  And when there's pressure he waits until the last moment to deliver a usually accurate throw. That's good and bad; I've seen him take some hard hits. I don't recall the Colts blitzing much.

didn't see any chatter about this, is he in the game today? still listed as questionable with non-injury notation.

Center Ryan Kelly, who was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, was out during Thursday’s practice due to a personal reason. Although Kelly is listed as questionable, “the belief is he’ll play,” according to Zak Keefer, a writer for The Athletic.

You could say the same thing about the Pats D too. There are just a lot of bad teams this year, that defenses like the Pats and Colts have been benefited from.

The thing I worry about (as a Pats fan) with this is too often a team selling out to stop the run can get burned when the RB gets through the line of scrimmage.  And with the power and speed Taylor has, that could mean multiple long runs.

Per Mike Reiss: Patriots inactives: CB Joejuan Williams, QB Jarrett Stidham, TE Devin Asiasi, S Joshuah Bledsoe, RB Damien Harris, OT Yodny Cajuste. The Patriots have elevated DT Daniel Ekuale, RB Devine Ozigbo and C/G James Ferentz from the practice squad for tonight's game. The Patriots did not activate LB Harvey Langi or LB Josh Uche off injured reserve by today's 4 p.m. ET deadline, so they won't play tonight.

Not as good as the run D.

If McDaniels is smart, he just spent this extended time building a game plan that shows everyone Mac isn't just a game manager.
