Patriots at Eagles Preseason (1 Viewer)

Can't really fault him too much on the 2nd incompletion...but then he spins into a sack. I would've thought that by now he would've stopped doing that spin move.

Is it just me, or is Barkley's passes just hanging? Don't see a lot of zip.
Hated the pick and still do. Hopefully he's another Matt Flynn and can be shipped out for a draft pick in the future to desperate team if the media can generate some hype in a year or two. You can clearly see that Foles has a way better arm and just looks way better at QB.

I actually like the pick as Barkley looked great prior to the shoulder injury.... I have to think he has some lingering shoulder issues from his injury. I'm going to hold opinion to see if he develops more arm strength throughout the season, but right now, he is in the right place as third string.

If he can regain/improve that arm strength I don't mind it, but I heard the same things in camp as well about his arm strength being a question mark. But as of now, I hate it. Either way, I really hope that Foles is the QB of the future, if it's going to be any of these 3 guys.

For everyone commenting about the defense, there isn't a powerhouse defense in the division. We could squeak by with a good offense and creating turnovers.

For all the reports of the demise of the Patriots offense, those seem to be greatly exaggerated. Granted, it's the preseason with a bunch of third stringers on the field, but NE's offense has looked as dynamic as ever, no matter who's been at QB.

Liking this Thompkins kid more and more.
Brady obviously likes him.
It's the first quarter it the first preseason game so lets calm down.
what exactly are they to calm down about? This is like something a father says to a child, what's with the tone?

I just saw in another thread that you are high on him. Far be it for me to dampen that enthusiasm. But I'm not giving you a tone - just pointing out that the first drive of the first preseason game is hardly the time to make proclamations for or against any new player.

My view is that everyone in the patriots offense is undervalued based on ADP. Even with the amorphous "starter" tag that will no doubt apply to at least five different receivers this year for the patriots, there is a lot of value to be had.

Takes two to tango , no? That Eagles D was woeful at best tonight.

Pretty much the same as the reports coming out of camp. Eagles' D isn't anything to gauge an offense by at this point.

Bryce Brown TD in a no huddle drive by Foles. Don't know if Polk will win the RB2 job, but Brown looked really good on that drive.
Bryce Brown looked great. Not just the TD but his running and receiving. I didn't see him try to bounce anything outside especially on that TD run.

I have no idea what Polk did to get the chance to work with the ones but Brown is the guy who should be there.
As a McCoy/Brown owner I'd like to know more about this too. Is Polk in there ahead of Bryce because of Brown's fumbling? To my eyes last year, Brown seemed like a rare athlete. Size and speed. Hating the thought of having to pick up a 3rd RB to handcuff to McCoy. I believe in what I saw in Brown and will hang on. Just not sure what Philly sees in Polk yet. Got to be ball security, right?

The dephtchart is written in sand per Chip Kelly.

liking him more and more, brady obviously likes him- these aren't raving comments putting the rook in the HOF, they're little tiny comments and I thought that was over the top by you.

In the other thread...why reply here to me? What's that got to do with these two posters?

I have constantly been toning down my excitement of him, sure. I think the last post I expected he'd go late 2nd in rookie drafts after the "names." There's a lot of posts, I'm sure it's obvious I'm excited even still.

It's been like this-KT needs to have not X,Y, Z happen, but A,B,C,D,E....happen to be a starter week 1. He is still following that path and it's rather shocking. 99% of UDFAs would have failed by now or been beat out by another rook or a vet. He's gotta have a good work out, has to get offered a contract, has to perform well in minicamp, in OTAs...the public may or may not have to accept his checkered past, build a repoire with Brady, mess up and show he can overcome, on and on there's alot that is almost insurmountable for a UDFA to be a starter in the league. Some, few, have done it. He's getting close to accomplishing this and I think that's pretty exciting.

A week or two more of him running with the ones and we "have to" discuss his redraft value. That is a huge increase from maybe he'll make the team and maybe I'll draft and hang onto him in dynasty.

To some of us that have had to consider practice squad players on our deep dynasty rosters, this guy is a wonderful tease.

IMO He's one of the more fascinating stories of the offseason.

I think Boyce has looked more like a traditional rookie and struggled at times, been impressive other times. He's done much better lately and it looks like he needed some time like most rooks do. I've expected him to pass KT but he hasn't yet. Now I'm curious if he will somewhere around week 4. How the draft pick/thoroughbred status will come into play. Already it seems KT is more sure-handed while Boyce has rare quickness that often times demands a coach puts the quickness on the field in hopes of a big play.

It might not be til after season one that KT can even truly be considered a starter in some people's minds. That's fine, I can see that too.

Nonetheless, I find his story fascinating and have been glad to follow it for so long. Usually an injury makes us ask "who is this guy" mid-preseason. KT got some press months back and I think we're fortunate for that. He won't be someone picked in a draft that makes people say "who?" and in many other scenarios he so would be.

Seems to me, from the articles, like Polk has had a better camp.

The quotes after the game seem to indicate the coach feels there are two RBs after McCoy like if McCoy goes down it's a two-headed monster type replacement.

I wouldn't handcuff them for FF then. RBs that share the rock aren't hard to find so I wouldn't want to waste a roster spot on that.

It could be that Brown needs to do better in camp and he needs some time to do that. I think we'll have to wait this one out.

Polk is not on the same level as Brown. This Polk stuff is striking me as a motivational ploy by Kelly for the young Brown who flashed last year but was irresponsible with the ball and seemingly had a lot handed to him by the previous staff.

that could be too. We'd need time to see this as well. I don't think there's any answer FF folks would like today.

I'm pretty sure it was because of the way they both performed at practice. Kelly and most beat writers said so.
