Patriots at Seahawks (1 Viewer)

Tidbit for the Patriots fans to chew on....

I remember very vividly a game from back in 2004. Patriots were protecting a slim 3 point lead. 2:55 left in the game and New England takes over.

1st - 10: Brady incomplete

2nd - 10 Dillon for 3

3rd - 7: Brady deep to Bethel Johnson for 48 yards

New England went on to make that a 10 point lead and beat Seattle. That's a pretty strong contrast to what we saw yesterday. Back in the day BB and Brady were fearless. They went for the jugular. Yesterday they played scared and went three and out late in the game.

I wonder if the Seattle pass rush had anything to do with them not calling many deep passes. Nah, like always,it has to be due to some moral failing on the part of the Pats. If the Pats had tried to go deep there and failed people would be criticising them for "being greedy" or some other crap. If the Patriots don't win, they can't win, it's that simple.
I love when people compare teams from 8 years ago to today, and try to convince people it's relevant.

I'd have to check game logs, but pats have probably hit a few long passes in the last 8 yrs.

But is this with a slim lead? I've always respected that BB didn't play scared with the lead. I love that he continues to play to win. Some people might not like the blow out wins, but I say screw em and their namby pamby emotional responses to a butt kicking. Playing not to lose is a sure recipe to do exactly that.

Thats the first time I've seen namby pamby appropriately used. I gave credit to the Hawks all throughout this thread (unlike you or scientist when it came to NE), sober I still take offense that this loss is anything but on the backs of NE secondary, atrocious.

Yeah, damn that NE secondary that didn't put up the 38 points I was predicting! Their fault!

Seattle cornerback Richard Sherman wrote on Twitter of Brady, "He told me and [safety Earl Thomas] to see him after the game when they win….. I found him after."
Link

Didn't Sherman get an INT yesterday?
Not many folks know about Sherman. Statistically he was one of the top CBs in the NFL last year. This year he's starting to get some recognition. After the Dallas game he approached Tony Romo. He told him he was bored all game long. Romo said that it was intentional. Sherman is big and fast, but he has great ball skills as well.
There've been at least 2 games where I didn't hear his name called at all, that's very good for a CB.
