I don't have time to read the report now. Is there anything that specifically indicates the Pats deflated football post pre game inspection? For example, Brady could have said he likes footballs on the under inflated side and they gave footballs to the refs that were under inflated for pregame inspection. Other than suggesting they could have done something afterwards, does the report state what was done, where, when, and by whom? It sounds like they are saying they don't know what they did but they probably did something.
The report does cover that matter. the who, what, how, where, by what method, and at the behest of whom, as well as the rewards for doing so are all covered. The hoped for slip shod procedures by the refs, at least by pats fans were also covered and debunked. the chain of custody issues wee also addressed, as were questions on whether there were confirmatory testing and an understanding of the ideal gas law.

No, what we have here is systematic cheating at the behest of Brady, and Brady rewarding that cheating with memorabilia pay offs. We also have Brady stonewalling and refusing to cooperate with the investigation.

The proof is not to a moral certainty, but is sufficient for any other than apologists who will never see the truth even if it was gnawing on their #####.

Didn't Brady come right out in his press conference and say he had nothing to do with this? Will have to go back and watch to see exactly what he said.

General Tso, NE_Revival -

Care to comment? You two in particular I remember being bigtime a-holes about this. I for one always thought they tampered. Curious what you NE apologists have to say now.

Whoa.

No other team has been punished because, as far as we know, no other team has screwed with the balls after the refs had approved them.

And for damn sure no other team has done it systematically enough or often enough that other teams caught on to the point that they warned the refs before the game even started about balls being deflated during a game in which the balls were in fact deflated.

HTH
Except the Vikings and Bengals, two of the three cases we mentioned...
So, you equate heating balls on the sideline during a cold weather game in full view of the fans, referees, and television cameras to systematically deflating footballs to appease the QB after the referees had approved them, according to the report likely during the 1 minute and 40 seconds when he ducked into the bathroom with the footballs?

Yeah, they're almost the same thing.

Brady can't be too happy that all those text messages were in the report, and it probably explains why he was unwilling to be forthcoming about his own records.

I also find it amusing that the report found so many holes in Brady's stories and claims about who he knew and what he knew.

Yup. He denied even knowing McNally, which has now been proven to be an outright lie. Brady=Arod. Both cheaters. Both reputations tarnished forever.

And this is really the smaller issue.

The lying and cover-up is worse.

Yes, it is the same thing. Its expressly outlined in the rule that heating the ball during a game is against the rules, for multiple reason.

The only thing thats different, is one for sure happened, was recorded in plain view and nothing came of it.

You can't prove that those heaters were turned on or that they affected the PSI levels of the balls.

Rotoworld:

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the NFL is considering discipline for Tom Brady as a result of "DeflateGate."

The Ted Wells Report painting an ugly picture for Brady and equipment personnel Jim McNally and John Jastremski, who are also facing discipline from the league. Meanwhile, it appears coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft will skate free. It's possible Brady will be watching the Week 1 opener on his couch with LeGarrette Blount, who was suspended two games earlier this offseason.

That's the way I remember. Admittedly denial with very clear answer that he did nothing.

No, but give Ted Wells 6 months, and he'll get to the bottom of it. More likely than not.

And murder is the same as speeding because they are both against the law.
This entire ####### fiasco is about a supposed competitive advantage.

In this instance they are exactly the same... which is why they are both outlined in the rule and fall under its umbrella.

So if the NFL strips the Patriots of their Super Bowl, do I have to give back my winnings to my offshore book? Is that why Sportsbook has been negligent in sending me my money?

You get to keep your winnings, and your player drafted in TOCOL. You do not get to keep your youth, vigor, or good looks , those fade like my drives off the tee.

Cover up worse than the crime. If he would have just admitted it....which is what he came close to doing with Costas early on....the penalty would be breezy.

Instead he faces real time because it is going to be determined that he lied to all of us...repeatedly.

I now question whether the dimple in Brady's chin is real, or the result of surgery. Just another false appearance. I even find it possible that Giselle has had cosmetic surgery, that Kraft wears a girdle, and that Belichek has some sort of goiter he hides with that hoody.

Nothing is real. Nothing except the constancy of the Patriots cheating.

Pretty sure GM never had 2 of those 3.

So what are people predicting as any discipline. Note that this is NOT what you think should happen, but what you think will happen. Forget about the ball boys and attendants.

The team gets X (options include fine, loss of draft picks)

Belichick gets Y (options include fine, suspension)

Brady gets Z (options include fine, suspension)

goddell will destroy the Wells report, fine the Patriots a draft pick, levy a couple of fines, and pretend the whole sordid affair never happened. just like last time,

I think the team will be fined and loses picks. Brady will be suspended. I think they come down harshly because of the Pats past rule breaking/bending, that Brady lied, Brady is so high profile and the NFL's new stance on coming down hard. I think Brady will be suspended for 10 games - indefinitely.

Convenient that the report did not come out till after the draft
that is another quiet black eye for the NFL....Pats should have lost picks in this years draft....now it gets pushed an entire year...another solid for Goodell's buddy.

Based on Saints decision - I expect a 1 year ban for Brady...plus Belichick - "ignorance is not a defense"

A fine, Brady will be suspended a few games, and maybe a loss of draft picks. I don't think anything will happen to Belichick.

I'm surprised Kraft is coming out swinging at the NFL and press. I'm thinking Brady lied to him as well and he got completely sideswiped. He looks like an ### now.
