I think he appeals and it will be dropped to 3 games. Good thing they had a great draft this year though. That 1st rounder is a huge blow, but its not the end of the world for them. Can see them still beating Jax though, but don't think they have a shot vs Pitt and Buff in the first two weeks. Should be 1-2 heading into their bye, and it might be a tight race between them and buff at around 9-7 for the division when it's all said and done.

I think everything but the first round pick is more than fair, and Brady's suspension time a little light (I though 8 games, maybe appealed to 4 at best). To me that seems a little much, very similar to Sean Payton being suspended for bountygate (which I didn't agree with at all). At least in this case there was some instance of Kraft not allowing McNally to be interviewed a 5th or 6th time, but it seems to me this should be mostly on Brady.

The Patriots would have to prove that the league had no authority to levy the punishment, either because it exceeded the scope of whatever agreement governs team discipline, or because the relevant provision in that agreement is unenforceable for some reason.

Proving anything one way or the other about deflating balls would be very unlikely to enter into it.

Depends. will they be caught cheating again? If so, then yes.

Some people will never let it go... and will put teams/players in lose-lose situations and then blast them when they lose. Be a sports fan and put yourself on the line with a chance to lose something. If they lose, you'll say they can't win without cheating. If they win, and do nothing wrong this year, you'll point back to all the other times they were wrong. Otherwise you're just an armchair fan who will blast them even if they do nothing wrong.

I'm not even a pats fan and I'd like to see them win again, completely within the rule book, and see what everyone says. People will still find excuses to devalue their talent and greatness. They beat the colts by 35+... wasn't cause of the balls. They won the superbowl with obvious properly inflated balls. You got your fair, if not excessive punishment, be happy and start rooting for your team now.
