Ouch. Rough attempt.Pats just landed in AZ. Supposedly the planes tire pressure was down upon arrival and that flight attendants are being interviewed.
More leaks at 7.

Of course this is the case. The only question is whether or not the league will punish their beloved Pats. I'm sure Robert would frown upon any significant punishment his buddy hands down.I honestly do not think there is any doubt whatsoever that the air was let out intentionally and I also think Brady is lying through his teeth.
I consider myself pretty unbiased on this, but to me, it's pretty obvious they intentionally broke the rules - if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it's a duck...that sort of thing.
Nothing to worry about at all, BB did a science experiment. All is good.Just now checking in. Preparing all day for the snowmageddon.
The Glazer tweet has me a bit concerned, I have to admit. It seems unusual to me, unless the guy went to the bathroom, but even that is weird. Why wouldn't he go the can before pickings the balls? It raises questions.
Listening to EEI they said there are security cameras in the hallways. That's the only relevant info I heard. This leads to me to believe the Pats knew full well that this occurred before this leak came out.
Brady sounded believable to me in his interview today. I feel like if he were guilty of any wrongdoing he would have just said "I've been told not to comment onit anymore". Instead, he went out of is way to talk about how tough it was hearing people question his integrity last week. My gut tells me the Pats don't issue such detailed denials if they did anything wrong. They didn't do this during Spygate. They were very quiet throughout and I actually thought they did something wrong from day 1. Not here though.
That's my take on the latest developments. If it is found the Pats did tamper with balls here, I can tell you right now you won't be seeing me on this board anymore. I will be so disgusted with sports in general that I will drop out entirely from the scene and pursue other hobbies. Maybe start reading or something. I never fully got over the whole steroids mess in baseball, and all these scandals have really sapped away my interest in sports. It's no longer an escape, no longer fun and games.
But I still think the Pats are innocent here. If so, my anger and disappointment will be 100% channelled to the NFL.
But then you can't send out a headline grabbing tweetisn't the word that the balls were only 1 pound below, not the 2 initially reported?
so we are only talking 8%
I'm actually pretty confident in the science part of it. The HeadSmart experiment and some work I've seen from a highly respected MIT guy on another site show pretty conclusively that the ball pressure can change up to 2 psi due to atmospheric conditions. I haven't seen one experiment conducted yet that disproves this, and I'd love to see it if someone can find it. All I've heard to the contrary are overblown (pun intended) slight of hand opinions from guys like Bill Nye that focus only on disproving a certain part of BB's story (ie - friction can't cause a significant change in air pressure).Nothing to worry about at all, BB did a science experiment. All is good.Just now checking in. Preparing all day for the snowmageddon.

I believe the ball transportation engineer is an nfl employee -- not pats employeeTwo things strike me in this newest twist-
1) By the rules, "the balls shall remain under the supervision of the Referee until they are delivered to the ball attendant just prior to the start of the game". Was the guy in question the 'ball attendant'? The rules dont say, but the inference is that the balls would be delivered on the field. It kinda defeats the entire purpose of the refs having custody of the balls for some dude from a team to go walking off with them in th bowels of their building. But maybe hindsight is 20/20.

We don't know yet that the balls were measured pregame. So if Indy inflated the balls to 13.5 then a 1 psi drop due to atmospheric change would still keep them within range when measured at halftime. Why didn't the Colts balls change then?I'm actually pretty confident in the science part of it. Read any one of the other 96 pages. But according to BB from his press conference on Saturday the Pats never do anything that even approaches the line.Another update from my snowmageddon travels today...
Felger and Mazz had a great interview with Mike Westoff, the old Special Teams Coach for the NY Jets, and one of is chief rivals over the years. As much as I dislike the Jets, I have to admit this guy sounded like a very credible guy when it comes to talking about BB. He said a lot of interesting things about BB pushing the envelope over the years. He was very matter of fact about it and told some great stories about former Pats players coming over, etc. In short, the crux of his belief is that BB pushes the envelope right up to the edge, but that he doesn't do anything egregious or out of the ordinary, he just does it better and it is therefore more obvious. Most interesting, he stated pretty emphatically that he doesn't believe the Pats tampered with the balls. He believes Belichik, which I thought was interesting and noteworthy.
Heard on radio average in NFL is 1 fumble/105 carries.....Pats 1/186 carries. That's impressive. If the ball attendant story ends up being true- hardest hit, Sharp Football Analysis. Suddenly will have to explain how the Patriots are so good at not losing fumbles on the road.

Pats balls were reportedly reinflated at halftime and put back in play.quick question: were the Patriots balls re-inflated at halftime and put back into play, or were they kept inside during the 2nd half?
thank you. That kind of deflates the sting operation, no? You guys are all knowledgeable football fans. The crap BB does has been going on for decades. In the late 80's the Giants played the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game at San Fran. As you know Bill Walsh used to script and rehearse the first 15 plays, so that no signals had to be called in from the sidelines. When the 49ers got the ball the first time, Walsh told the refs that his headset wasn't working, which meant that the Giants had to stop using their headsets as well and couldn't call in plays to the defense. San Fran marched down the field and scored easily. Parcells confronted Walsh after the game about it and said, "If you ever do that #### again I'm going to call you out on it". Walsh paused, then slyly remarked, "Just a little gamesmanship Bill".But according to BB from his press conference on Saturday the Pats never do anything that even approaches the line.Another update from my snowmageddon travels today...

The initial report was that the 12 backup balls were used. Idk, no one knows what prompted the officials to check the balls at all. All of the reports about teams warning the NFL/other teams have either been denied or ignored.thank you. The issue of whether or not it was a sting is the most fascinating and perplexing part of this story. If it was a sting, you would think they'd have measured and marked each ball pregame so they could have an apples to apples comparison at halftime. You'd also think they would have watched the ball boy like a hawk and seen him inflating the balls, unless of course he did that in the Pats locker room en route to the field. You'd also think the refs would have videotaped both the pregame and halftime gauge measurements.Of course we are also assuming the NFL is capable of all of the above intelligent actions. That might be the worst assumption of all.thank you. That kind of deflates the sting operation, no? Nothing like destroying the only hard evidence you have.Makes me think there was no pre-planned sting.Pats balls were reportedly reinflated at halftime and put back in play.quick question: were the Patriots balls re-inflated at halftime and put back into play, or were they kept inside during the 2nd half?

Nobody wants to be known as the snitch here. But someone did snitch, whether it was before the game or during the game. The NFL wouldn't have launched an investigation unless someone initiated it through a complaint.I think it came from the Colts management.Idk, no one knows what prompted the officials to check the balls at all. It's funny to watch the apologist's message change as info comes out that doesn't fit their current agenda.
He believes Belichik, which I thought was interesting and noteworthy.I cant tell if you are being facetious or not - IMO, BB functions on other side of the line...and the line keeps getting pushed ahead of him.
There's a difference I think between using new eligible linemen in a completely legal formation, and using a new formation on kick offs as they did a few years ago against the Jets that generated controversy, versus pushing the envelope by tampering with footballs. I believe BB does the former. I don't believe he does the latter. As stated above, if I find out otherwise, then he should be fired, tarred and feathered. That's all fine and dandy. I can only speak for myself. I am definitely quieter and more concerned today. I think I've been pretty consistent and fair throughout this process. I still believe BB.It's funny to watch the apologist's message change as info comes out that doesn't fit their current agenda. After BB's 'science experiment', a couple of them got pretty arrogant about the situation and were laughing at all the "Haters". I'm definitely noticing a quieter tone today.Exactly....funny watching the guys pimping BB half ### "science" changing the tune to their old tag line of everyone does it. This thing isn't "hinging" on anything. It's over, we're all just here talking fumes. Is this thing really going to hinge on the Refs not being bothered to carry a bag of footballs from their locker-room to the field?
Consistently biased would be more accurate.I can only speak for myself. I am definitely quieter and more concerned today. I think I've been pretty consistent and fair throughout this process. Oh sorry, I've been busy. I'm still being arrogant and laughing at the haters. Belichick's conference was the nail in the coffin. The NFL won't find anything and I doubt there'll be as much as a $25,000 fine. It's funny to watch the apologist's message change as info comes out that doesn't fit their current agenda.
