Patriots RBs Week Thoughts (1 Viewer)

I've got shares of all three of these guys throughout my playoff teams. Wouldn't mind discussing potential outcomes this week.

Burkhead seems like the best play in PPR but something I watched Monday night disturbed me a bit. Once NE got into catchup mode--which was the entire second half--Burkhead was useless. I believe he logged one carry for one yard. It was the James White show for the two minute offense which was pretty much the entire second half, including staying in for GL work. Lewis looked great and was still getting some rotation in the second half.

I'm legitimately worried that the same game flow could affect Rex this week. I don't think I'd have the stones to put White in but in PPR I think I'd rank Lewis who may have some early success against the depleted steeler D, over Burkhead.

Any thoughts guys?

I think the NE running game should do well this week against the Steelers in both run and passing game.  The problem is that I have no idea which one.

I've got pieces of them all over the place but on one team I have both Lewis and Burkhead PPR. I can only use one. Driving me nuts. The rankings I've looked at have them close but about 80% favor Burkhead. I just have this feeling that Pitt up the middle can be weak and Lewis might really go off like Collins last week. He's the best pure actual running back.

I agree with you.  I think Lewis could be in for a big day but then again it is NE RBs we're talking about.

Its easy ... Ne wont be down all game.. Ne is hardly down the way they were against the dolphins

Burkhead will be goaline guy and will be utilized as he was before.. Lewis will be fine too.. James white is hardly utilized..

Roll both with confidence

I have Lewis and Burkhead on my only playoff team.  I have been playing both of them most weeks with good results.  That debacle against the Dolphins has me concerned too but I don't really have much better options.  I have Kerwynn Williams, Ted Ginn or Robert Woods as the only potential replacements.  I couldn't believe that even on the 1/2 yard line they kept White in there.  I hope they just decided to get away with as little injury as possible in a lost cause.

Burkhead would be my choice. He's got the potential for TDs, whereas Dion would likely have to break one, or get lucky to get a carry down there. I actually had both Dion and Burkhead, and after 2 lackluster weeks by Burkhead, I dropped him in my short bench. So despite hating that the guy has blown up, he would be my pick. It's frustrating see Lewis do a lot of the work only to lose TDs to Burkhead.

2 lackluster weeks from burkhead.. Burkhead has been lighting up last 6 weeks... My choice would be Burkhead As your # 2 .. Lewis more of a flex guy .. I have Mccafrey , Mike Davis and Dion Lewis and Corey Coleman to choose from will be tuff

Collins was burning Pittsburgh to the outside in the Pitt/Bal game.  He was smoking the defense to the edge and really exploiting the speed/loss of Ryan Shazier.  I don't believe NE RBs are quite as quick as Collins and the Steelers should fare better in that regard

That being said the Steelers are still pretty banged up at the LB position and they will have to deal with Gronk coming back.  There should be some opportunities for the NE run game.  If Pitt learned anything from last time around against NE is they better not play zone.  Brady simply chewed them up.

I'm starting Burkhead as my RB2 with not much other choice on my bench (Martin/T Coleman/Duke Johnson)  If I had another waiver claim I would consider Mike Davis this week over him but I don't
