Pats Defensive Backfield (1 Viewer)

Three games in the bag, and four players on IR, Randall Gay joined Tebucky Jones, Mel Mitchell and Ray Ventrone on the IR. Already 4 of their rostered players have found their way to the IR. What's the deal? Is it using them too much, namely special teams? The demans for physical play? Or, is it simply a remarkably bad run of luck? Year after year this is happening. I can see it happening on occasion, but this is the third year in a row for the secondary. Not the same guys.

Oh yeah, if you have players in the Bengals passing game, I'd think they're wise plays today. It's there. Unless the Pats play some sort of modified nickel, using extra LB's in the zone, because they're short DB's, and challenge Rudy to beat them w/ the run. Whatever the game plan, it's not a good matchup for the pats. The Bengals have no weakness on offense to force them into. The Pats have a glaring weakness on D, and the O has sputtered.

They have 4 guys on IR, but they are not exactly their front line starters. The Pats secondary certainly is not great, but they are still way better than the dregs they were playing the beginning of last year.

As a Pats fan, starting Housh this week will be bittersweet. I fully expect 100+ and 1-2 from him. :(

Pats only chance is if they can get mad pressure from their front 3-4. If Palmer has time, he is going to eat up that secondary.

And Hobbs is out for today's game too. I'm starting Houzyourmomma against my beloved pats today, and I've got him and Palmer is the subscriber contest.

Good call, this is exactly what they did.
