My guess: their second and third round picks from 2010 through 2016.Wow that was unexpected. Wonder what Raiders are giving up.Per Mike Reiss.Don't know for who yet.
This sounds about right, but Oakland will throw in JaMarcus Russell just to get this done quickly. My guess: their second and third round picks from 2010 through 2016.Wow that was unexpected. Wonder what Raiders are giving up.Per Mike Reiss.Don't know for who yet.
They have more players to resign than they can possibly afford. Is this for money/contract reasons, or are the Pats down on Seymour talent-wise?

Seymour has between 0 and 3 good years left and requires large compensation. Not really shocked by this at all (despite initial HFS!).![]()

Seymour is the best 3-4 end in the league right now. I'm shocked that the Pats would even consider an offer. Gonna have to be big compensation.
on adam twitter page he says Oaklands 1st round pick oin 2011. wow.
That's not for another two seasons, but probably a top 10 draft pick in my opinion.on adam twitter page he says Oaklands 1st round pick oin 2011. wow.
I agree with that, but he's still on top right now. It's just surprising, however they are getting a good pick for it. They have to many stars to sign all of the them, so getting compensation now makes sense. Do they resign Wilfork now? Or is he a future trade too?Seymour has between 0 and 3 good years left and requires large compensation. Not really shocked by this at all (despite initial HFS!).

Al Davis is such a boob. No wonder people think New England is evil with nitwits like this around to take advantage of...Unreal.
This move just shows why NE is a half step ahead of other franchises and why Oakland is 1.5 steps behind.Semour's contract is done after this year. Couldn't afford him and Wilfork. Maybe this means they try to re-sign WIlfork? They also have others in line for more money. Dumping Seymour saves them $3.3M against the cap this year.Given their LB situation, they were expected to have played a lot more 4-3 more than a 3-4 this year anyway. They understand that they need to get younger, and with OAK's pick next year they should be able to get an impact player.

Pure desperation move by Davis. The run defense is still atrocious, so let's get one of the big names DE's (no matter if he is still any good or what it will cost the team)Al Davis is such a boob. Maybe NE is counting on a rookie salary scale in a new contract with the players union by 2011.Semour's contract is done after this year. Couldn't afford him and Wilfork. BB doesn't get pissed. The machine is cold, heartless and mercilessly efficient.More shocking that any of the cuts made yesterday. So who did Seymour piss off in New England?![]()

But don't give him all the credit. Other organizations run a tight ship like this too; Steelers are the model.BB doesn't get pissed. The machine is cold, heartless and mercilessly efficient.More shocking that any of the cuts made yesterday. So who did Seymour piss off in New England?![]()
Seymour and Vinatieri are locks.hth.At least now we won't have to hear Pats fans say that Seymour should make the HOF one day. So there's something good out of this.
2011 pick right?I think with the combo of their LB situation and the play of rookies Ron Brace & Myron Pryor it makes more sense to switch to the 4-3Semour's contract is done after this year. Giving a 1.01 pick for Jamal Lewis. So what's the fantasy football equivalent of this?
maybe Al figures he won't be around in april of 2011?
